  1. Spun by Sam at the Casino & also by Searling at Clifton Hall & on his Soul Sauce show but not sure if RS played it at Wigan. Would he have been sacked too??? Think it was played by them both prior to it charting. If not mistaken originally recorded by Ruby Andrews on Zodiac.
  2. Guess without the records the artists would'nt have much either Vinyl topic going round in circles
  3. Anybody got any of the following records for sale please get in touch via PM. Len Rideout - Just One More Night (7" or 12") Ebony Stones featuring Jade - Take You Higher Buena Vista - He's Okay Tyrone Thomas - You're Hardly Gone Thanks for looking, Mart...
  4. Morning Brett. Simple answer, where were you last night & how old was the main guest?
  5. Seem to remember a few folks showing a bit of interest in the single 'Love That Girl' a while back so I thought I'd post a few Youtube clips up from the new album. Opinions??? ">
  6. Think I've mentioned this before on here but can confirm 100% that there is a Motown collector in London who owns a copy of FW as I've seen it. Guy who owns it has got no interest in the Northern/Rare Soul scene whatsoever & he also said he knows of a guy in the States who also has a copy. Can't confirm this but can't see why he would lie about it.
  7. Should this not be in the 'Site News' or 'Members Feedback' forums? Sorry Mike but couldn't resist PS, Did you used to be called Moonshine
  8. King Moses?
  9. Think your'e guessing right Mark As for the other white label copy's it seems some folks have been took for one of these
  10. Never thought in a million years I'd ever be saying this to you Pete but welcome to the dark side Can send you some details on how to join EMS. Sure you'd love it on there
  11. Hmmm, Latest in what's becoming quite a long list of Nu Brit-Soul artists that seem to be flavour of the month at the moment. Must admit though that he's one of the better ones if this is ow't to go by. Been around a while though & was part of Basement Jaxx a few years ago. Just a shame that all the contempory US Soul artists don't get this much exposure over here.
  12. Jeff Smith's a bargain. Was offered £100 for mine a while back & turned it down. Also saw a copy go through Pat Brady's auction a while back & think it went for about £150. Great record as well
  13. Should your username not be Stafforder1 then
  14. Still need e'm both. PM if you have either of the above for sale please. Mart...
  15. Hi again Ian, Must admit to preferring Vanessa Haynes more contemporary releases but I'm sure we both agree on one thing, she's got a great voice & she is hopefully going to go on to a larger audience & earn some much deserved money for the talent she posesses. Had the pleasure of seeing her live a couple of years ago at the Without Boundaries summer ball & have to say she gave a stunning performance. Got to say out of the 3 CD's you mentioned above I actually preffered the Disco album to the 2 Northern albums but it's each to his or her own I guess. Regarding me bieng a Stafford or a classic Northern fan I guess I'm both & a lot more besides. I try my best not to pigeonhole music & the last thing I look at when I buy music is the year it was made. Back to the topic of contemporary releases might I suggest you have a listen to the recent Joey Negro presents the Sunburst Band album called 'Moving With The Shakers' to give you some idea of recent stuff. A solid album from start to finish.
  16. Hi Ian, Hope you don't mind me saying but you're so wrong on this. Might I suggest you have a listen to some of the stuff posted up in the '21st Century Soul' thread in the Media forum & also some of the stuff your old Mecca mate Colin Curtis is playing. Also have a listen to some of the other tracks Vanessa Haynes is doing. A good starting point would be some of the M Swift vocals she did. I'm sure your'e familiar with the V H tracks as she is an artist you have used a few times on your recent albums. Just so you don't think this is another anti I L rant as I type this I'm listening to a couple of your Voices With Soul tracks. Quality especially 'Walking On Air' & also like their version of 'From Now On' & have saved you the trouble of posting them up below. ">
  17. Been down this afternoon to set up the CD decks in't 70's room Don't start until 8 tonight but if you'd have been coming up today instead of part timing it you'd have known that See you tomorrow fella
  18. You'll be lucky for £400 Karlos. Would say it'll be more like the 4 figures you were expecting. Not really an obsession Steve, more of a 'Natural Impulse' Rideout??? See you later mate.
  19. Next time you see one then buy it for me & I'll give you double what you pay for it. I know of 5 x 12" issues & 1 x 12" promo that's unplayable (anyone ever seen a 7" demo?). As for the 3 mixes there is only 1 x 12" mix thats got a longer instrumental break than the 7".
  20. Always have to laugh at how negative everybody can be on threads like this. Problem ain't that there are too many venues. The real problem is that folks simply don't get off their arses & support the venues. Seems that folks would rather stop at home & moan that there is too much on rather than getting out every weekend. You'll all be moaning when there's now't on for miles around.
  21. One here on e bay. https://cgi.ebay.com/DONALD-ALBERT-the-hard...1QQcmdZViewItem
  22. Not sure. Don't know the song & just copied the mp3 to refosoul before deleting it.
  23. This normally does the job at the end of the night. ">
  24. Link took me to a guy selling a rocking chair! Surely folks ain't booting them.
  25. Can tell you're not a darts player Murray. Treble 20, treble 11 then double 14. Back on topic sort of. Last week at our Modernism night Sean McPhail from the Wakefield City Soul Club guested for us & spun the wrong side of his 1st record at the wrong speed as well. Swiftly announced "We are the Wakefield City Soul Club & this is what we f*****g do" Top lad. If you want to see an encore Simon the Wakey lads are on after you at the EMS party in 2 weeks
