  1. You tell him Roger! You do realise though that all us Yorkies are going to have to put up with 2 months of ranting & raving from said member of site In fact I can almost hear the phone ringing now.
  2. Too bloody right Rod. Just had this terrible image of everybody sat round with boxes full of records all armed with digital verniers comparing thicknesses of records. Just to put this into some perspective your thumbnail is about 1mm thick so now divide it by 100 & you'll realise just how mad this really is.
  3. Sure I saw him sell 5 copies at St Philips as mentioned earlier. Here we go again
  4. Bloody hell John, we're never going to get rich at this rate!
  5. All within about a 10 mile radius as well Sean. Might sell mine to a rich Scottish DJ though for an extortionate amount though
  6. Oh yes he has Picture below is of the copy I just won on e bay for a very modest fee
  7. Last copy I saw for sale was £50. Wondering how you're gonna get a 12" in your 7" sales box though Al
  8. Bloody hell Sean. Saw Jimmy at St Philips club in Sheffield in the late 70's & he was selling tapes & some 7" records & didn't bother buying ow't. Live & learn eh!
  9. Good question, can't ever recall seeing a US copy. Seem to see more UK demo's around than issues as well. Think the Jimmy James also had a European release in a picture cover as well, not sure which country though.
  10. Hey up Andy Jackie Wilson 'It Only Happens' was also recorded as a UK only release by Delegation on State records. State was part of the MCA group so explains the JW connection. Always assumed JW was the 1st version but maybe not I guess. Delegation version quite nice as well & could do with a copy if anybody has a spare.
  11. That's because J C is a DANCE record & the majority of 60'S Northern tracks are DANCE records. Compare it to a classic Northern stormer like the Velvet Satins. Both simple lyrics, both about 120 bpm - about the same speed your heart beats when you dance to e'm. Not going to go down the usual road of saying Soulful House is the new Northern that some go down as I see it the other way. Prefer to think of the 70's Northern scene as the House scene of the day. Before the usual folks get the gallows out to lynch me from think about it for a minute, Young kids who don't go down the mainstream music road as they need that extra buzz from the music.
  12. Seen quite a lot of brown label 12" demo's but very few white label 12" demo's. Price seems to vary wildly as well as it's in demand to different collectors (Northern, Modern, Boogie & Rare Groove). Have a look on the link below at the different prices on popsike & you'll see what I mean. https://www.popsike.com/php/quicksearch.php...sure&thumbs=
  13. Think you'll find there are 3 Barry Well somebody had to say it
  14. Good call on the Chrysler & Monarchs Paul. Big spin for Gary Rushbrooke well before it was played at Stafford.
  15. There ain't a poundsaver on Broadway Kenny I'm off to Sheffield in Albert in a minute Rob. Taking a pair of gloves just in case I need to push it Sure he could knock another up if he needed to Malc, keeps asking me if he can use our lathe at work & borrow one of my decks for some reason
  16. Don't say that Rob cos it'll be on a c90 cassette tape if he does
  17. One of Crofty's favourites, Cheryl Burdell - Giving It All To You. One of the few records he always got up & danced to (badly).
  18. Why on earth would I say that Malc Was also going to say Roy Dawson as well. How about a favourite of Adrians who ran it, Leon Bryant - Mighty Body (Hotsy Totsy).
  19. Can't argue with that
  20. The ad in question followed by how it was made & just for Joe the Ian Parton remix. ">

    crofty at my sisters 18th - 1983

Remember that hat of Crofty's & actually wore it myself once many years ago in Strads.
  22. Just get a blank label scan Beeks old boy. Can help you out here, perhaps you could use this one. Sure you recognise it from your Hacienda days As for the title & artist why not cover it as what it really is then everyone wil be running round looking for summat else
  23. Very, very nice. Can see where Barry's coming from (that makes a change ). Not Kenny's usual 'praise the lord' kinda stuff. Now't wrong with that sort of God/Gospel stuff & Kenny's at his best doing that as it's his passionate belief & it shows. For me Gospel is Soul music in it's purest form but I don't believe in God so it's a bit of a dilemma personally. One of my all time favourite tracks is Jasper St Co - Smile. 100% feelgood passionate Gospel Soulful House but the message means nothing to me. Anyway back to KB. Great new track & nice to hear something a bit different & more laid back from him. Sounds a bit like some of the things from Mr Day to my ears. Also good to hear some nice stuff surfacing again on traxsource as a lot of the stuff has been a bit stale recently IMO but this & Tyron Dixon have had me hitting the 'buy' button.
