  1. The unissued Sam Dees track 'Running Out Of Places To Hide that Bob Jones is spinning seems to be getting talked about by those who have heard it. Bet that's got you sat up Sean Great thread BTW fella & thanks for starting it up for the last few years. Always the highlight of the new year on here for myself & many others I'm sure
  2. Spot on as usual Bri. posted it in refosoul way back in feb 2007 & think I sold it to Sean Chapman real cheap as it wouldn't go. Bet he ain't played it yet either /more/soul-library/madeline-bell-help-yourself
  3. What part of 'please post an introduction on the following link before posting again' do you not understand??? /index.php?/forum/44-new-member-shouts/
  4. Strong views for a new member. Can ask that before you post again on this or any other thread you post an intro on the link below as stated in the site rules. /index.php?/forum/44-new-member-shouts/
  5. Just been over on EMS (Essential Modern Soul) & this thread was mentioned on there by Derek Jack & now I have posted a link as well for folks. Great gesture Pete & as a Mod on here can I just say a great big thank you to everybody so far who has helped out so far. Makes Modding on here so worthwhile when everybody gets together to help out like this. Will send a few quid over later Pete.
  6. Who won Good shout on South Yorkshires Wayne Dearman. Heard him playing everything from 60's RnB but not many folks will know that he can mix a mean House spot. Not so sure about the young though
  7. Sure he'll be a star & I look forwards to hearing him play & to be honest I'm surprised I ain't already Brett. If he's good enough for you & the Red Bar loonies he'll do for me. Also sticking in Yorkshire keep an eye out for young Rosie. Heard her playing good quality music right from the 60's to current releases without any of the usual prejudices that sadly rub off on most of us. Was one of my highlights last year to hear her play Al Green - Keep On Pushing Love & announce it as her favourite record to a full Northern dancefloor. Hell at 15 she shouldn't even know who Al Green is.
  8. Great post Jaco & it brought some great & some not so great memories flooding back for me in what has been one of my most traumatic years away from the Soul scene for both good & bad reasons. Soul Source eh, Can't live with us - Can't live without us either. Been a great year for me as a Mod on here & I'm sure the other Mods will say the same & here's to next year. Merry Christmas everybody. Mart...
  9. Posted it a couple of years ago in refosoul. COMBINATIONS - WHAT'CHA GONNA DO -
  10. LOL Thought he'd mis-spelt 1983 though Roger.
  11. Every year's a disco year ain't it Anyway looking back I'd say 1979 but on a positive note it's gotta be 2010
  12. Agreed old Clifton boy Thanks for the clips too Kenny.
  13. Ah the Shrine acetate album. Holy grail or urban myth??? Was sharing a couple of beers one night with John Poole (hatman on here) & he said he had a copy of the Shrine acetate album in his hand in the States & none of the tracks were any of the 7" releases. He also said that every track jumped so he left it. Now if it had been me I'd have snatched the sellers hand off & somehow got it repaired & remastered so why didn't he.
  14. No need.

Somebody ring his mobile cos he won't have a clue which pocket it's in
  16. Quite a few things on this thread you might be interested in Tommy. Not all on 7" vinyl & can't for the life of me see why that matters but each to his own I guess. This is quite good & on 7" & in stock at Crazy Beat. Be sure to listen to both sides though. B side sounds just a little bit like Willie Tee https://www.crazybeat.co.uk/more-info/Teenagers/Keep+On+Walking++Lean+On+Me++What+A+Unbelieble+Double+Sider++This+Should+Be+At+The+Top+Of+Everybodys+Play+Lists+In+A+Few+Days++Unmissable/Unique/70067//

  19. Anybody got a copy of D elegation - Promise Of Love c/w It Only Happens on 7" State going spare? PM with price & postage details if you can help. Thanks in advance, Mart...

  21. Great shout Lin. Here's another Joe cover version from this year that everybody should know (cue some wag saying the originals better ). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tQ5qVxryH4g
  22. Good call Marco. This is also on the same album & it's out now & also on vinyl for those that way enclined.
  23. Just been browsing Crazy Beats latest offerings & stumbled on this that should wet the tastebuds in the Northern & retro 70's & Modern rooms by the Teenagers. Wanted it to be awful with a group name like that but try as I can to hate it it's rather good. Both sides well worth a listen IMO on the link below. https://www.crazybeat.co.uk/more-info/Teenagers/Keep+On+Walking++Lean+On+Me++What+A+Unbelieble+Double+Sider++This+Should+Be+At+The+Top+Of+Everybodys+Play+Lists+In+A+Few+Days++Unmissable/Unique/70067//
  24. Full thread dedicated to Pages - Heartaches & Pain in the sharp end forum on link below. /forums/topic/63310-sunstruck-pages-heartaches-and-pain/ As you're not selling anything am locking this topic.
  25. Gone too far now language got fruity & threats started getting thrown round so locking thread so folks can cool off for a while.
