  1. Now we seem to have thrown up every version known to man (& even some not known!!!) is there any chance of Andy who started the thread putting us out of our misery & letting us know what version he heard?
  2. jimmy elledge - you can't stop a man in love -
  3. Sounds like the Jimmy Ellidge version on Song Bird from 1979 to me. Great version & a beautiful label design too if that sort of stuff floats your boat.
  4. Quick & hopefully easy want. Teddy Pendergrass - It's You I Love / Where Did All The Loving Go. PIR Issue or demo, not fussy as long as in good nick. Prefer 7" but the 12" will do. PM if you can help out. TIA, Mart....
  5. And while we're on the subject of supermarkets Al
  6. Was having a bit of fun Kev, you know humor??? Thought all the folks mentioned (including you) would have seen it the same way. Anyway if you have got a problem with my moderating go through the correct channels & report it rather than commenting on it on the thread. You have been told before.
  7. Brilliant idea but fear it would never happen due to usual reasons, my venue, no my venue & my DJ's, no my venue, DJ's & my date etc. Think the best way to settle all this would be like they did in the good old days - A good old bare knuckle dust up in a pub car park. You could have Kev Roberts & his crew in one corner. The ECSC Bridlington boys in another. The Prestatyn team in another & the new kid on the block Philly thrown in to make it interesting. Maybe get Mike to referee it as he's the head man on here & all those involved use his site to promote their events for free. Could even run a book on it to make a few bob for chariddee on the side. Now that's something I'd pay good money to see but who would win.....
  8. Agree with all of the above Chalky but you forgot the best thing - IT'S FREE
  9. Wash your ears out Smithy & look at this for a bargain from the BBE website. £3.50 well spent & just a shame that volume 2 was sold out but cheap enough on places like amazon. https://www.bbemusic.com/data.pl?release=BBECD105
  10. Seems to have worked quite well here on a thread you commented on & also DJ'd at. /forums/topic/133762-higham-wmc-northants/ Could always just not bother posting your event up if no one takes any notice & most folks at your night don't look on Soul Source as you claim.

Know that Rob but the point I'm making is was any copyright paid to the artists. Doubt it as they were'nt even named. You know me Rob. Always speak up for the artists first & if the artists get a cut from a legit repress I can't see the problem unless a night is advertised as OVO only.
  14. This album currently available on the BBE website for only £4. Also all the other BBE stuff is half price for a limited time so be quick if there's anything that catches your eye. My recomendation is the Get Down With The Philly Sound double album that has been remixed by Dimitri from Paris. Total bargain at only £6 so fill ya boots ya horrible lot LOL. https://www.bbemusic.com/data.pl

But are they? I'd have thought if Grapevine were 100% legit they would have released Hey Little Way Out Girl under it's original artist instead of it's cover up title (or better still not released it at all LOL) Now if I was a member of the Construction I'd be pretty p****d off with the guy's in charge of Grapevines owners RCA.
  16. Just asking a promoter a question on a thread named promoters Kev. Also if what you say is true & I've no reason to doubt you I'm 100% with you on the poaching of DJ's whether you believe me or not. Will say the same to Philly / Bob too if he cares to comment on it.
  17. Your DJ's ? Can they not work for anyone else then Kev?
  18. LOL. Knew you'd say that Pete but you'd also say the same about Sam so it kinda justifies my connection in my first post don't you think. Guy seems so wrong that he's right in a wrong kinda way if you know what I mean, a bit like dear old Sam really. Got to go see him live & sooner rather than later.
  19. Got a big sound system :-))) Folks are gonna think this was planned but it wasn't. Hurry up with the PM Tim

  21. I've been & I'm pigeonholed as a Modden fan
  22. Just been flicking through Youtube & did the usual thing & stumbled onto some David Rodigan & thought now he's to the Reggae scene what Soul Sam is to the Soul scene. Love him or hate him you certainly can't ignore him. Opinions please (& don't forget I'm a novice down here in't Reggae room LOL)
  23. Germanys Rob Hardt - the guy behind the recent Ann Sexton release 'Rising Up & also behind the album of the year so far IMO 'Soul Unsigned 2010' has been at it again with yet another new album featuring various artists called 'Spirits' by a group of artists known collectively as Seductive Souls. The track that should prick up most folks's ears on this forum is track 6 called 'love Don't Hurt At All' by an American artist called C Robert Walker. So good to hear quality Soul music like this still getting recorded. You can have a listen on the link below via the juno website. https://www.junodownload.com/products/spirit/1599891-02/
  24. Think you'll find they want the inferior sounding & far more expensive vinyl copy Dave
