  1. Hope I get one of these for Christmas. Be sure to hit the video clip on the link. https://www.crosleyra...t.aspx?pid=1869
  2. Good heavens!!!!! https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&autorefresh=true&category=306&item=400170416117&nma=true&rt=nc&si=5BDeQvBi0%252BHf%252FncOYEqQgNc6%252Fdw%253D
  3. Simple answer. Because you have never heard me play Been in my playbox for what seems ages & when doing the right type of event it gets dusted off. Great call & great thread too.
  4. Might be an idea for the Prestatyn organisers (Mark Coddington & John Poole) who are both site members to come on here & let fellow site members know what is happening as quite a few of you have already paid for next years event. Even a 'don't know ourselves' will be better than nothing at all. At least it will let folks know what (if anything) is happening.

  6. On second thoughts Now You've posted it up I seem to recall seeing it before but thanks anyway Sebastian
  7. At least get your facts right. Pauls recent activity were NOT posted up by a mod but by Ian Sims & thought you'd been told to quit the stirring by someone who IS a mod
  8. Forget the pop song. I'd like to see a scan of the French Sammy Gaha in the picture bag....
  9. Wondered how long before the strings v no strings debate surfaced Tim If any more turn up don't forget your old mate up the road
  10. Bloody hell I thought you 2 were friends. Just seen a copy on gemm for quite a bit less Tim but was knackered. Seen what the 45's going for https://www.rarenorthernsoul.com/Rare-70s-80s/10629/im-in-love-with-you/#product
  11. Anyone got a copy of the Reggae compilation album 'Natural Reggae volume II' on Bamboo records from 1970 going spare for a reasonable fee. PM with price & condition if you can help out. Thanks for looking. Mart...
  12. You might like this then John. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vUpbor_Teps&feature=related
  13. Just dug it out for a listen Sean & you're right as it would have fitted like a hand in glove at Clifton hall fella. Good call
  14. Just thought a few of you might like to have a listen to the new Cee Lo Green single as a few of you showed a bit of interest in his current novelty single F**k You. Must admit it is quite a nice ballad (go on, shoot me down in flames!).
  15. Recognise the DJ & the club as well as was there that night. It's Clowne community Centre near Chesterfield. Was mid to late 90's I think. Far as I know the Clowne Blues Club are still based there. Had some good (& a couple of bad!) nights there back in the day. Thanks for posting as didn't even know this existed.
  16. Rarest white demo as far as I'm concerned is 'Shock Horror' a 12" copy of King Tutt. Relatively common on a 12" issue as there are at least 1/2 a dozen known :-)) but this is the only 12" W/D that I know of apart from the alleged badly warped copy in London that no one's ever seen. God I want that lump of 12" vinyl so so badly. Also throws up the question as to wether 7" King Tutt Fun City W/D's exist as never seen or heard of one.
  17. You'd hate them Chalky. Trust me
  18. If the thread was just about the first posted 'sounds like Soul' pop record I'd agree Chalky but it's now drifted over to include Cee - Lo's other titles that have been rather big on the Modern scene so think best left. (see how I rather cleverly resisted saying F**k You LOL)
  19. That is probably the best collection of rare 12" Soul vinyl I have had the pleasure to see ever. Pike, Al & the Kid (Al Mason), Arnie Love, Cornilius Oliphant, Franklyn, Carla Bangerise, Benny Rose, 2 King Tutt's an issue & the oh so elusive white label demo. Please please sell me the spare one. Thank you so much for posting. Made my day.
  20. Thank you Brett. Seems that most of the moaning that gets done is by folks running nights rather than folks attending. End of the day the paying public decide, end of... Do us a favour & move down here to the West Mids. Thought all this shit was a South Yorks thing but oh no it ain't. Some pretty nice restaurants too :-)))
  21. The Jimmy James - Jimmy Ruffin bastardisation thing below. Does a bit but with a Barry White style vocal I suppose. Got the O'Jays mate & sounds great so many thanks again Ian. Would make a great double a side 12" with the JC don't you think?
  22. So what does Jimmy Saville do now then??? Agreed r/e Crazy & that OutKast chappy & can I throw De La Soul into the reckoning too. '3 feet high & rising' one of the best albums ever regardless of genre.
  23. Is it? Show's how out of touch I am don't it...
  24. Wondered how long it'd take for this to surface on here. Below are the official clean version that'll probably get hammered on the wireless & the Cee Lo track that's bieng doing the rounds on the Modern Scene for a while now. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qtkr5m_2K5A&feature=related
  25. Some great points raised there Ian (don't get too bloody smug LOL). Don't forget that the ffrr label did release several things on 7", Satoshie Tommie (obviously) & Arthur Miles (both sides) spring to mind. Have said for years that all 12" Soulful house tracks should always include a short (around 4 mins) radio edit. Spoke at great length to Mr Barnfather on this very subject on several occasions. Can even remember him stating in Manifesto that Soulful House has no place on the Northern scene & that very same night heard him playing as you mentioned above Ron Carroll - Back Together in a classic Northern room Just to back up my point have a listen to the radio edit off the 12" of Cunnie Williams (nicked mi name the shop front !!!) Come Back To Me. Now if that ain't Northern I don't know what is....
