  1. Thought a few of you might like to have a listen to the latest release from the Westcoast Soulstars called Show Me Love. It's been around for about 4 months on the Modern Soul circuit but has just been released on good old 7" vinyl. Got to admit it's great to see things like this helping keep vinyl alive & kicking. We all know it's hanging on by it's fingernails but at least it is still hanging on. Have a listen on the youtube clip below & then hopefully you'll purchase it from the link at the bottom of the post for a measly £8 from Crazy Beat. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ePVNaItruC4&feature=related https://www.crazybeat...t+Music/79855//
  2. This year hopefully
  3. Hi Steve, Firstly thanks for the very well worded reply. Don't think anyone on here or anywhere else for that matter is doubting Richards integrity in any way whatsoever. End of the day the mans a legend in my eyes (& I'm sure most if not all on here). You mention that he has many 'unreleased gems' in your post. Now I'm sure there are quite a few folks who would be more interested in hearing these for the first time than already currently available items that are planned for release. Now that would be a way 'Ahead' IMO. Naturally I wish Richard well with these releases especially with his current employment status & he would be more than welcome on Soul Source to promote any future releases & I'm sure he could share some interesting stories with site members at the same time (have a word in his lughole Steve ). Also wondered why you mentioned that these were getting released 'LEGALLY' as they already heve been by the thread starter on the Goldmine Sevens label https://uknorthern.users.btopenworld.com/sevens.htm Mart... PS, Grab yourself a copy of the Luxury Soul 2011 triple cd thats just released. Right up your street fella & at a budget price too.
  4. Bubble of Soul Source??? Guessing this is some sort of dig at me as a Moderator voicing an opinion? If not please do explain. Just don't think re-issuing old tracks that are already re-issued & still readily available is the way 'ahead' & if you read further into my post you will see that I am praising Richard Searling & Ralph Tee's new release Expantion products & have even had one of them drop on my doorstep today (the Luxury Soul 2011 triple album). Now IMO this is the way ahead for Soul music (not pop music like you have quoted).
  5. Ahead??? Sorry but IMO reissuing already reissued 40+ year old records like this is far from ahead. Thought someone like Richard would have come up with something a bit more original when you consider some of the cutting edge new release stuff put out by Expansion. Just have a listen to the Soul Togetherness 2010 album to see & hear what I mean. Top quality new Soul music. Now thats going ahead IMO.
  6. Still wanting the 2 Owen Grey / Gray tracks. I Am Satisfied & also Am Satisfy if anyone can help please.
  7. Might have been a step backwards in the Northern room but were a giant leap forwards in the Modern room when ran by Terry Gee.
  8. Just found it funny that you compared Cee Lo to Gnarls Barkley. Show's that you were listening if nothing else. IMO it's just good to see that people are going into the studio & recording Soul music & the masses are buying it. Kinda gives hope to all the other people out there doing something similar. Also pretty sure Mr Green would not compere himself to the great Marvin or Otis as he's more of a Jackie Wilson fan (fact) :-))) Agreed on the paper boy though as it did nothing for me either but like I said earlier at least there's still folks out there doing it. PS, hope you opened the window first
  9. Certainly is a hell of a lot tougher but equally as good IMO. Been discussing it & also the Collins label with Sutty on EMS (don't ask Pete LOL). Just look for the 1 copy for me Funky Reggae, Soulful Reggae, whatever. Just call it good music Pete
  10. Thought it might be. Got a copy to let me have for a modest fee Pete please. If I said I got my ideas from the owner of the country's leading Modern Soul forum nobody would believe me Also after a copy of Am Satisfy by the very same Mr Owen Gray on the Collins record label but you already knew that too didn't you Mystic Meg
  11. Any of you kind folks help me out again with another Reggae want. After a copy of Owen Gray - I Am Satisfied. Would prefer a UK copy on Escort where it is the B side of Denzil & Jennifer - Young Gifted & Black but will consider any legit release. PM with any info & I'll get back to you ASAP. TIA, Mart...
  12. Somebody please tell me this post is in jest
  13. Normla or Tamthern
  14. Merry Christmas you horrible lot from't Modern Mod Hope you all like these from me.
  15. Same here Mick, bought the CD on the day it was released. Quality Soul music of the highest degree. Thing I don't get though is why people on a scene that bases itself on owning original copy's are rushing out to buy the 7" second issue
  16. But has Gasher got the number plate G 45 HER
  17. Just been watching Mr Manships auction with interest as these 2 items went through for similar amounts. Guessing one of them will end up being a Christmas present & I know which one I'd prefer so how about the rest of you? The number plate T 17 MLA for £1340 Milton Parker - Women Like It Harder for £1300 Mad world innit
  18. Good idea Mike. Just seen this one in the event forum to start the ball rolling.
  19. Good album like you say Miff apart from the awful version of I Want You. Should have gone with the version that was featured on Gilles Peterson's show (& played be me at the Bridlington weekender LOL). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZY8g96fMgg

  21. Yeah I know what you're thinking - Cunnie's lost the plot again, a Christmas album but this is good. No honestly it really is good. Have briefly mentioned some of Ralph Hardt's new releases on here before like the Ann Sexton release from earlier in the year & one of the tunes of the year from Cool Million - Back For More. Anyway enough babbling from me & onto the music. The Youtube clip is the first track from the album from Eugene Wilde - I Love Christmas. Sounds cheesy as hell I know but have a listen. The link is to some more info & also soundclips for the rest of the album including tracks from the likes of Ann Sexton, Cool Million & many more. The album is in stock at the usual suspects like Crazy Beat & Soul Brother & also available on CD & download at amazon. http://www.sedsoul.com/ Happy Christmas everybody.
  22. Not kidding there Godz. Think quite a few have enjoyed your Quiz thread tonight too so thanks PS, is it Timi Yuro ? LOL
  23. Always look forwards to Sean Hampseys 'Tips for the new year' threads. The new one will be along in the next few days hopefully. The crate digging threads always make good reading as well.
  24. Essential Northern Soul Story. Title says it all really. https://www.discogs.com/Various-The-Essential-Northern-Soul-Story/release/892917
  25. Moved this to sales for you Toaster. Shouldn't be there for long though as some bargains in that lot. Sold my Womack 12" for £60 & it's a lot rarer than the 7". Sounds better too. Also seen the Teddy P go for more than double than your'e asking.
