  1. Exactly Russ. Northern events no matter how you want to dress them up - Original Vinyl Only. Modern events - legitimate format only be it vinyl, cd or even legitimate download transferred to a playable format. Said before on here & other places, thats how it's been for as long as I can remember.
  2. Also thought there was some sort of Kopell connection Nige but never had a solid answer. Reason I want to know is that I sort of aquired a Stardust test press off the Mrs of Timi Yuro. Not really my thing at all but if it is legit it must be pretty scarce as never seen another Stardust test press & Liberty copy's go for close on a grand now. Does look quite good too as label printed & all artist / title info hand written. Might be off to the bay if it is as scarce as I'm hoping.
  3. Could someone finally please clear up how legitimate these Stardust releases are? Have heard on a number of occasions that they are legally pressed in Canada so therefore they are not bootlegs. Also have a very good reason for asking (& it's got nothing to do with The Tempests release).
  4. Been after the Rowan mix for a while (pm me if you have one please) & it seems to be the more desirable copy to own. Also seems Ernie Johnson did this quite often as his Dreams To Remember was released no less than 3 times on different labels. Value? About £30 I guess for either copy.
  5. Now available on i tunes for people who can't wait for a solid release on cd or even vinyl later in the year on the link below. https://www.r-kelly.com/news/r-kellys-share-my-love-available-now-itunes And as for Mr Dewhirst & Mr Mooney, don't you wish it was on your labels boys :0)
  6. Think you'll find that Andy Peebles played this quite a few weeks before your good self or Searling off a pre release copy on his Soul Train show Sean. Still does sound alreet though don't it
  7. Love this clip & before anyone asks it's Al Green - Give It Everything & no it's not on vinyl
  8. Nail, head hit Matt. This site is called Soul Source, not Northern Soul Source & covers all things Soulful.
  9. Without going too off topic Chalky one word in your last post stands out & that is records. There's plenty of music out there but the format is still one of the principal things on the rare Soul scene. Classic example is the Al Mason I recently sent you. It's rare, it's oh so Soulful but it's not available on 7" vinyl. Maybe if the DJ's looked outside the box a bit more it would be beneficial for all concerned.
  10. The top DJ's find & break a record & make it 'indemand'. The bootleggers/re-issuers press it up to satisfy demand. The top DJ's drop it like a lead balloon & find & break another record. Not going into the rights & wrongs of the above statement but that's how it's worked for the last 40ish years isn't it?
  11. Don't waste your money on a flight case Chalky. Had loads including Swan, Technics etc & would never buy another. The UDG trolley's are 100 times better. Admit they are not cheap but you will only buy one as they are bombproof. You can also strap a 7" box to the handles as I'm sure you will need to. Travelled thousands of miles in cars & on trains with these & they are brilliant as you can fit other things like spare carts, headphones, middles & CD's (I can say that as I'm into Modern LOL) Some other company's make them too but none are a patch on the UDG one's. https://www.juno.co.u...lack/340859-01/ Shop around & you might get lucky & find one for less than £100.
  12. Chalky's right. Put a nut & bolt through it with a nice big penny washer on the back. That way you know it's safe.
  13. Looks like £112. Crazy world....

  16. Posting this for a mate who is not on line. He's offering a straight swap of his copy of Syng McGowan - That's What I Want on Hope for a copy of The Specials - I Can't Find Another on Satch. Bit of a bargain up for grabs here as if you look in Manship's 5th priceguide you'll see that Syng McGowan is £200 & The Specials is £20. Make of that what you will. Anyone interested in this just drop me a PM & I'll pass my mate's info on to you. Thanks for looking, Mart...

  22. Would be helpful if the promoters/ex promoters who are members on here (John Poole & Mark Coddington) let people know one way or the other what is happening instead of leaving all the site members second guessing like above. Might also stop some of the 'heard from a mate of a mate' rumours that are flying around & let people get on with planning their weekend events for the forthcoming year (including me as event moderator ).
  23. Strange thing is I used to hang around in the record bar at Wigan, used to be from Sheffield & my nickname at work was Hovis but it's not me as I wasn't given this nickname until about 1995 & if anyone calls it me now I'll glass e'm
