  1. Arista 7" & also Arista 12" four track promo. The 7" is on the b side of 'The Only Thing Missin' & recently have seen the 12" going for what seems quite a bit of money (about £80 to £100) on e bay. Not sure why though as didn't think it was that scarce. Possibly a different mix but not sure as only have the 7" Link to the 12" below from popsike. https://www.popsike.com/php/quicksearch.php?searchtext=Aretha+Franklin+Wonderful&x=20&y=11
  2. This ain't bad. https://www.soul-source.co.uk/articles/articles/soul-news/dynamites-feat-charles-walker-r2610#soul-top
  3. Have heard something about that before. Think it was mentioned on here about him wanting a percentage of the selling price. Wonder if he'll chase Manship up for some of the £9 it sold for Also just realised that a Terry Gengis & a Prophets is exactly £10,000. Now I got a Terry Gengis so if someone wants to add a Prophets to it we could sell the pair for £10,000 & do a straight split on the money
  4. What's the going rate for the 12" then Bob? Know that's what the Boogie fans want. Must admit to being surprised to see it in his auction in the first place.
  5. Sadly out of my price range unless he has a January sale. Nice to see one though as it really is very rare & that's only the second copy I've seen.
  6. Here ya go.
  7. Ike Noble a bargain. Had an early bid on it & was going back to it but bloody forgot it was Wednesday as in holiday mode Terry Gengis for £9 was a steal too but it's the 12" that goes for the money & not the 7". As for the Prophets, well I'm sure enough of you other members will comment on that. Wonder what the next Shrine disc will be as he seems to be offloading them by the dozen.
  8. Just been looking around & seen both vol 1 & vol 2 for about £40 each but guess you could get for less on the bay if you got lucky. As for the original album would say about £150 but a hell of a lot more for a Blaster 7" copy as it's very rare. Shorter version too I think. Copy of the album on e bay too Jnr but very overpriced IMO.
  9. The Keb Darge Soul Spectrum album you mention also got a vinyl release. Can't remember if Tony Fox is on volume 1 or volume 2 but both great comps & both getting harder to get now.
  10. Quite surprised at how much people pay for Will Collins & Willpower - Anything I Can Do on Bareback. See far more Bareback copy's than Italian Darby copy's & they normally go for around half the price & also come with a picture cover (well sort of pic cover!).
  11. Thanks Steve. Always assumed it was the same label, same name, similar design especially on the yellow press.
  12. Here we go again. Clifton Hall for me not that it matters. 2nd best record on Fun City behind King Tutt
  13. Think quite a few of you might like to find this under the Christmas tree on Dec 25th. A great new album from Charles Walker & the Dynamites. Better known probably to most as Little Charles and The Sidewinders who recorded many "Northern Soul" favourites for Decca, Little Charles or Charles Walker as he is known today, is still performing to this day as lead singer with the Dynamites. New probably isn't the right word to use really as it could have been made 40 years ago. The stand out tracks for me are track 3, Still Can't Get You Out Of My Heart. Very nice & dare I say Crossovery & also track 6, Love Is Only Everything, 110% storming Northern Soul (honestly!). The albums also available on vinyl & CD so format shouldn't be a problem. Know how feeling is towards newly made retro sounding stuff but this really is very good as you'll hear on the link below. The second link should take you directly to the Cosmic Groove website to purchase directly in the format of your choice. http://thedynamitesf...only-everything http://www.cosmicgro...293086d71a2308f
  14. Thought so John but just thought I'd ask after reading the Teddy P thread. Hoping for someone to post up that it got released in Iraq on a promo or something silly like that.
  15. Know this was on Lenny's Love Current album on MCA but did it get a 7" or a 12" release of any kind?
  16. Was told by John Poole that there was a Shrine acetate album but every track was damaged that badly it was unplayable. Don't know how true it is but he swore blind it was right as he had seen it.
  17. This any use? https://www.ebay.com/itm/GABIN-THE-FIRST-TEN-YEARS-CD-ALBUM-CHINCHIN-RECORDS-/130734623756?pt=UK_CDsDVDs_CDs_CDs_GL&hash=item1e70640c0c

  19. Got over £200 for my spare copy Dave. Remember Geordie Johnson & myself giving this some hammer as a new release at the Friendship & Modernism as a new release in South Yorks. The Jazzier mix (sorry but forgot the mixer) seems to be getting quite popular too so expect even more demand for it.
  20. From the 'The Way I See It' album. Should be in everyone's collection & probably can be picked up for a couple of quid or so now.

Link here if anyone can bear to listen to it. Total bastardisation of the original version (IMO) & absoloutely no need for it whatsoever as Joe rightly points out above that it was released on both 12" & 7" formats by FFRR. Clue is in the write up on the link below where it say's 'set to follow the likes of Bob Sinclair - Tribute as the latest House record to have a Northern Soul following. Think the original cut will be in the playbox for tonight to let folks know how it should sound. https://www.northernsouldirect.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=4224
  22. Well that's put me off my tea. Thanks Tim.
  23. Yet another gimmick to dilute the scene even more. No desire at all to waste my hard earned cash on this or any other film, book, novelty fashion accessory, counterfeit item etc. Prefer to spend my cash on what this scene really is all about for me - the music Remember what Grease did for the Rock & Roll scene? Not saying this will do the same but it's another move in that direction. Had Motown week on the X factor at the weekend & if we carry on down this road in a few years it'll be Northern Soul week on same said program. You have been warned.
  24. Thing that's always drawn me to this site is the overall Soul music appeal be it Northern, Modern & everything in between. Plenty of other sites out there that cover specific genre's & most of them are very good at what they do.
  25. Great thread & poll Barry. Bit bemused that some folks have voted no to poll 3 though. Site is called Soul Source & not Soul Source as long as it fits into your little pigeonhole.
