  1. Why not buy the CD album as it's the original copy, far cheaper & you also get some other great tracks on it too.
  2. Gary's funeral will be held at Abbey Lane cemetery, Sheffield on Monday 29th July at 1:30pm. The venue afterwards has yet to be confirmed.
  3. Someone got themselves a bargain with the Jackie Stoudemire 12". Seen e'm go for more than double that in the past.
  4. I'd say it's rarer Chris as have seen far more Bareback US copy's both issues & demo's. Have also seen a Derby copy with 1976 credited as the year (mine's 1977) but that would pre-date the Bareback copy. Like the PP Arnold
  5. Will Collins & Willpower - Anything I Can Do on Italian Derby in a picture sleeve.
  6. Noticed that everything they have for sale is a promo. Might be wise to look for an issue (glad mine is).
  7. One here Sean but I wouldn't go near it. Not saying it's dodgy but how many more have they got. https://kcityrecords.com/buy/rare_soul_music_collection_yes_its_you/

See the old guy on the chair to the right. Well he's my Father in law & you can tell he's thinking look at that bloody idiot but maybe not quite as politely as I've been :0)

Knew I shouldn't have put those stupid glasses on. As for Rob, they're his normal specs!!!!

Great pics Alison. Gwen Mcrae - Keep The Fire Burning on the left deck. A very special record for me as it was the last record I heard Gary Welsh play.
  11. Thanks Joe. Gary's brother Stephen has said he want's as many of Gary's friends as possible to attend his funeral if they can & want's to make it a celebration of Gary's life.
  12. Sorry to be the bearer of such sad news but Gary Shaw (Little Gary as most knew him) from Sheffield sadly lost his battle against motor neurone disease yesterday morning aged 51. Gary's brother Stephen has spoken with me tonight & has asked me to start this thread to let all his friends on the Soul scene know of his passing. Any more information regarding funeral details etc will be posted up as soon as they are known. Rest In Peace Little Gary.
  13. Always thought Teddy Pendergrass - You Can't Hide From Yourself on 7" was one of the toughest to get. Only got a 7" release in Holland unless you count the recent repress. Even tougher still in the original picture sleeve.
  14. Always in my playbox at this time of year. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQKa9JShkpA One of the best live performances on youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMpBEo3kpIQ The version. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aO8cGfStANs
  15. Blatant venue plug removed. Not the place for venue plugs as got an event forum for that. Can ask members to stick to the topic in question in future.
  16. The recent King Tutt supposed Italian boots are pretty good. Also the original poster asks if any are foolproof. If they were we wouldn't know about them
  17. So it is a Will Kerr 7" that's been discussed in the first post then Steve. Still like to know if there is a connection between the 2 artists. Was once told that Ike Strong was the lead singer of True Image. Sounds possible by the comments by Adam T.
  18. Strange thing is the Funky cut (Ike Strong) say's Disco Music while the Disco cut (True Image) say's Funky Music. Not heard the new cut yet & would like to & if there is a Will Kerr 7" copy out there I'd quite like it as the 12" is a bit over long IMO.
  19. Never seen or heard of a 7" Steve. The 12" seems to have got a bit more collectable thanks to our Boogie friends.
  20. Got a True Image & an Ike Strong & might be willing to part with the True Image for a reasonable offer. The Ike Strong is a bit crackly & I'm keeping it until a better condition copy comes along. Might be a while though sadly. Think there's some connection between Ike & True Image but not sure what. Also got a mint original Benny Rose (not the 2nd issue lookalike) if you want it Mark.
  21. Was once bidding on an item & the Wife was secretly bidding against me to buy me the record for my birthday. She outbid me & several others but bid way over the going price for it but luckily someone outbid her with a snipe in the last few seconds. Do feel rather guilty as it was her fault the winner had to pay way over the odds for it.
  22. 12" copy here on discogs. Same version as the 7". Keep seeing folks saying the 7" is rarer but seen more 7" copy's flying around than 12" copy's over the years. Great record & very scarce on 7" or 12" & bound to increase in value. https://www.discogs.com/Mary-Mundy-Stop-In-The-Name-Of-Love-Love-Is-Gone/release/1559945
  23. Both sides very nice indeed Andy. Will buy for sure, just a shame that I won't have them in time for Brid at the end of June though as would have gone down a storm in the Modern room.
  24. Kinda with you on this. Construction - Hey Little Way Out Girl released legally (supposedly) in the UK on Grapevine, a subsidiary of RCA as Del Capris. So who got the royalties, Construction, Del Capris or no one. Be interesting if the original group or even the fictional artist came forwards & wanted paying. Smart alec lawyer could fill his boots.
  25. Thought the same too Mark but you know what folks are like on this scene. If it's not the original it's a boot regardless, legit or not
