  1. Right then,This has been one of the most popular threads of mine & I'm sure many other members too over the last few years so it's a little bit upsetting to see it getting ripped to bit's like this so I'll try my best to (hopefully) get it back on track. My first tip, might be a bit controversial & is definitely not one for the purists but I bet it will be massive on the dancefloors if anyone has the balls to play it. It's a remix of Billy Stewarts Summertime by Smoove & before anyone say's how dare somebody remix this don't forget Billy's version is in fact a cover version. Also it's available on 7" vinyl if formats make any difference to you. https://soundcloud.com/stevenmoove/summertime-smoove-rework Now did I mention cover versions. My second tip is another 'marmite' track. It's a cover version of Millie Jacksons House For Sale. Now I know what you're thinking, Man's gone mad but I actually prefer this version from New Zealands Mark Williams to Millie's original. Just listen to the sax break half way through it - To die for IMO. Also quite scarce as it only got released in New Zealand & the odd few that were out there have now been snapped up. Also know it's a favourite of Stevie G as well https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yTgpeij3dU0 Third & lastly up is something that has been massive on the Modern scene for the last few months but it's been rumoured that a 7" edit will be surfacing soon. Here's the 12" version from the governor, Frankie Knuckles featuring Inaya Day. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3M0F12lDZFc
  2. Wanted, Carlton & The Shoes - Give Me Little More. Original 7" preferred but would consider the album This Heart Of Mine. PM me if you can help & I'll get back to you asap. Thanks, Mart...
  3. Can't remember you playing the Moments Rob. Must have been lost in conversation somewhere. That Four Tracks sounded good. You do realise that I'm going to be bugging you for it now don't you. Great spot fella
  4. Heard a bloke the other night played Barbara McNair twice but didn't play Marvin Gaye at all
  5. Be sure to buy a UK Mowest press then Chalky as the sound quality is far better than some of the US copy's. Was lucky enough to get mine off Sutty at a reasonable price before they shot up. Might be worth asking him as he has a pretty regular turnover of stuff like this. Could then put it in your UDG trolley
  6. It. See you are from my old home City of Sheffield. Might I suggest a trip to somewhere like the Horti Club & then you might realise what I am talking about.
  7. Seems to be a lot of talk about Motown 7" releases on here but don't forget the albums. My all time Motown related track is an album only release on the Mowest label. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ynxqigC3DmY
  8. Guess I could just stop at home & listen to it on youtube or something similar. Would save my 'boot' leather too (excuse the pun, I couldn't resist!). In fact if everybody did that it would solve the problem of so many venue's on as well. Jeezz, some folks just don't get it do they
  9. Question in post 1. Answer in post 2
  10. Going out tonight to Hinckley. Tom Walsh is DJ'ing & he will play Ray Agee (hopefully). Now if I walk up to the decks & I see a vinyl carved copy or some other form of bastardised copy spinning around I'll feel cheated but I know that won't happen. Wouldn't go if I thought it would. Them's the rules for me, Always has been & always will. PS, Slight contradiction on my previous post r/e Ray Agee but sure you all know where I'm coming from.
  11. By some strange coincidence that's where we're heading on Saturday so look forwards to hearing it played. My poor old limbs are past dancing to it these day's though so I'll be nodding my head in approval somewhere
  12. Not suggesting for a second that it's a bootleg & that's why I quoted Ted's reply as well as the post that said it was a boot. Just thought it might be of interest. PS, in the highly unlikely event that it does turn out to be a bootleg I'll give you £50 for it Ted
  13. Some of you might want to cast a glance over post 134 & also post 147 on this thread before you jump to any conclusions.
  14. Were also known as Walter & the Admirations. Film of them doing it live somewhere Pete.
  15. I know Ted & I know how it happened. Skegness I believe.
  16. No. I collect Soul music in it's original format. A lot of the time it's 7" or 12" original vinyl but if something is only available on CD or download it'll do me as long as it's legitimate.
  17. Don't sit on the fence waiting for these as they are on ebay for double & above this already. Credit to Jason for not cashing in as others have done.
  18. I'd give Soul Sam £50 for his cracked Joseph Webster
  19. Here is a review of the UDG Slingbag that I have. https://djworx.com/udg-slingbag-trolley-set-deluxe/ You can also buy the bottom half of the trolley separately for about £100 at places like Juno & ebay. Also if you want to transport 7" singles you can get one of these & they fit perfectly over the UDG trolley handle. Got one of these myself & they are brilliant & will never go back to the solid style 7" cases. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Magma-7-Single-Bag-150-II-black-/111207946377?pt=UK_Vinyl_CD_DJ_Bags_Cases&hash=item19e4829889
  20. Not bad but the UDG trolley is the one to go for IMO. Magma do a 7" bag that fits over the handle so you can transport both 7" & 12" with ease. Will post you a link later as using my phone at the moment.
  21. Quick google search would have got a Temptations 12" for £65 & that's high for it IMO.
  22. But it's already been re-issued once on the blue MTU Watts City label.
  23. Surprised this went for what must be at least double it's value. Not even it's rarest format (imo) as seen far more 7" copy's than 12" copy's.
  24. After tips Andy Might not go down too well with most but I think there are hardly any DJ's on the Soul scene. There are a hell of a lot of collectors who are passionate about their music & want to share it with the masses but very very few of them are DJ's. A DJ won't think twice about playing a track he hates & also couldn't care less what format it is on & is more than likely doing it for the cash. A collector will carefully take an original record out of it's card sleeve & possibly then it's paper sleeve too & lovingly place it on the 1210.
  25. Bought this a few weeks ago & it's still available here at Juno on red vinyl. https://www.juno.co.uk/products/frankie-knuckles-presents-directors-lets-stay-home/509339-01/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0QYXUkdZqA
