  1. The original has "Isn't She A Pretty Girl" on the other side, and is stamped (I'll have to look, but I think it's Archer)
  2. He was probably born as a fully fledged 10 year old
  3. When viewing the ebay listings. One of the suggestions was this gem, which is probably just as relevant to NS as these two "Chris Clark" numbers .... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LES-DAWSON-rare-UK-1974-DOUBLE-SIDED-EMIDISC-ACETATE-NORTHERN-SOUL-CROSSOVER/331502592267?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140122125356%26meid%3Ddc50c06978794943b8d7372e759e1a44%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D371279117448&rt=nc

  7. What label is it on?
  8. But it IS a Wigan oldie
  9. I had an empty floor a couple of times on Saturday night. On one occasion I stuck Court Davis on and one bloke got up. Danced on his own looking like he was in soul heaven throughout the whole record. Made it worthwhile
  10. Seems like most of them are in another country or, more correct to say, another planet
  11. Limmie & Family Cooking - You Can Do Magic Sweet Sensation - Sad Sweet Dreamer
  12. It should be no more than a fiver. Utter shite.
  13. The thing is that for most reputable dealers you can pay by credit card. That incurs a cost for the seller, but I never hear of a seller asking to add 3-4% if paying by Visa etc. Paypal has, it seems, become the de facto method of payment for soul vinyl. And, like most things to do with soul vinyl, common sense and normal real world business practice goes out of the window.. I have no problem doing F & F for someone I know (like Pete S), but it is madness to send someone you hardly know hundreds of pounds with no protection. However that said, I have done it a fair few times myself. But common sense goes out the window where soul vinyl is concerned
  14. Or why don't sellers just take the Paypal charges on the chin, or account for them in the sale price?
  15. The whole Friends & Family payment for records should stop IMO. If the buyer wants payment by Paypal they should stand the charges. If this ever gets out into the red tops, it will be a bigger scandal than the MP's expenses or cash for questions
  16. Same old, same old. Why in 2015 is there a market for bootleg vinyl? Back in the 70's vinyl was the most common format for listening to music, every home had at least one record player. So it kind of made sense for bootleggers to press up records. Today though it's completely different. If you don't have, can't locate, can't afford or want the original record there are so many ways to listen to the music, most of which don't cost a penny. If you want to play a tune at home that you don't own an original vinyl copy of then you can buy a legit CD, you can download either legitimately or illegally. But you don't need a bootleg record. If you're DJing, then it's simple if you don't own it on a real record then you can't play it. You may feel it's unfair, you may feel like throwing your toys out of the pram. But tough you still can't play it. Unless of course, in a fit of pique at the injustice of it all, you and your div mates set up your own do and play bootlegs to each other. And it seems that this is what has unfortunately happened all over the country. Stop all the bootleggers. Make it a thing of shame to be seen playing bootlegs. It already should be.
  17. Must be VG+ or better. PM's please with your required price and record condition. thanks Phil
  18. It all totally dismays me. Just what really is the point any more? I've been to loads of do's in recent times where the local "top DJ's" are on with their prized collection of carvers, boots and reissues with stuck on labels. They get praised and lauded by the crowd. You hear comments like "I never knew he had this one" from the crowd, to (one I heard recently at a night I had the misfortune to attend) hearing the DJ state "here's the ever popular Chicago mega-rarity" while he stuck on a boot of The Salvadors. I really fecking despair.
  19. He's still on the net
  20. And D&J in carnegie
  21. Marvin & Tammi - If This World Were Mine
