I have one of these available for a non-silly price. PM me with non-silly offer if interested. Phil
  2. I have one available for sale in EX+ condition. Sensible offers (circa £125.00) invited. Cheers Phil
  3. Yep. I didn't sell the record. I believe several people did pay big money for it. but not off me. There were quite a few people desperate to buy the record at the time, as uit was the "next big thing". It was only when IL's involvement in it started being punted around that folks didn't want it. I reckon if there had never been a mention of Levine's involvement and a load of copies hadn't turned up it would be a very different story.
  4. A film done the right way in the majority's eyes (majority of the soul scene that is, pleasing all the "right" people and causing no offence to anyone) would appeal to the general cinema going or video watching public about as much hammering nails into their own eye sockets would. A generally entertaining film made to appeal to the vast majority of the cinema going public that used the Northen Soul scene as its backdrop would be widely slated amongst the Northern Soul cognoscenti. I can just imagine it, comments like "this film is supposed to be set in March 1977 and I know for a FACT that Searling didn't play that record until at least October 1977", "load of crap, ripping off the scene" etc etc etc ad nauseam. You know it would be like that. Phil
  5. I've never sold that. Still got my copy. Are you after one? Make me a sensible offer.
  6. Must be Danny Moore. I sold mine to Pete Lowrie (via Pat Brady) for £1000.00 (don't know what markup Pat put on if any), and I replaced it early this year for £60.00 Phil
  7. He did many more rercords than just "Footsteps". 24 hours a day used to be my face. But as I've posted before, the Noel McKoy track on the Northernsoul 2007 CD is brilliant. He does have rather strong opinions I agree, which can upset people sometimes. But it's only because he really believes in the music he's made. Many people of an artistic nature are very opinionated. Myself, for example Phil
  8. It would have to be .... Don gardner - Cheatin Kind, and Court davis, and Eric mercury
  9. I think perspectives can and do change. I have always loved listening to my sounds at home, in the car, wherever. I also used to love going out to venues and the social side of the scene. I used to love DJ'ing to share my sounds with others and occasionally show off. Nowadays though, I think I would rather stick pins in my head than go to a venue. But I listen to my records as much as, if not more than, I ever did. And as I listen alone I choose the playlist Phil
  10. So £800 is too much basically? Cheers
  11. OK. £'s waiting. even though I don't buy 45's anymore
  12. Parisians - Twinkle Little Star. Anybody got one for sale? How much? cheers Phil
  13. I must stress it is the Rockabilly, Danny & The Junior, greasy quiff waving type of RnB that i don't like. There ain't nothing wrong with a little bump n grind however
  14. It would appear that we do - amazing. However my finding RnB for the most part tedious and distasteful obviously still doesn't qualify me to have an opinion on anything
  15. Liking R n B? I agree you deffo should be banged up for that
  16. I have mostly been listening to rubbish
  17. Very sorry Chief Inspector Pikeys Dog of the Soul Police. I obviously haven't got a clue about soul, northern soul or even music in general. I will in future stop posting and bothering you soul gurus and just watch on in wonder, with a forlorn hope of maybe learning something. Once again, my apologies.
  18. It was made in 2007, not 1967. The backing doesn't sound electronic to me, sounds like real instruments. Some of it sampled maybe but real instruments nonetheless. But why dissect it like this. it's a damn good northern dance track IMO, and I'm sure plenty would get up and dance to it, were it played out. Phil
  19. If you didn't know it was a Levine track would it still stink? I think it's really good. A good dancers track.
  20. Finally managed to do a sound file. I know how to do 'em off vinyl no probs, but never done one off a CD before. Track_No13.mp3
  21. It's not mine it's Babelfish's
  22. Sorry, I have no sense of humour
  23. Ah. I see now. Sorry, I'm from the backside end of CleckHuddersFax. Takes a little time for it to sink in
  24. I know. You prised mine off me at Yorskhire Rider a few years back - remember? Phil
  25. What? If I state an opinion or express a liking for a record that you don't agree with or like I'm on Levine's payroll? Anyone who really knows me would tell you that just is not the way I work. If Ian was paying me (not that I would take his or anyone elses money) I still wouldn't pretend to like something that I didn't. You're raving up the wrong tree my friend.
