  1. Anyone got one for sale? Cheers Phil
  2. Cheers. It's a sellers market though I suppose. If you want a record then you gotta pay. particularly if buying on ebay when the whole competition thing comes into play as well.
  3. How much would you expect to pay for a Dynamics - I Need your Love - RCA these days? Cheers Phil
  4. It's better to DJ to yourself at home anyway mate. You know that the audience loves every track you play Phil
  5. I don't buy much these days (I mostly sell stuff) but I've been recently been getting a few back that I previously sold and particularly wanted to get have again. In the last few days I've bought: Cavaliers - Hold To My Baby Little Tommy - Baby Can't You See Greater Experience - Don't Forget To Remember Cautions - No Other Way Rita & The Tiaras - Gone With The Wind Mickey Buckins - Silly Girl Phil
  6. Nice one Mike. Well done
  7. Sorry Mike. Didn't mean to "sting". However, if he is/was a friend then I think you'll find forgiving him and then discussing it with him will quite possibly "sting" him into sorting the issue out. Phil
  8. Why thank you Bob. Forgiveness is so refreshing, exhilarating and liberating I find. Phil
  9. No. Not at all. I have however caused people problems in the past I admit. And as I come across people whom I have previously wronged I am sorting these issues out. I just hope I live long enough to undo all my wrongs. It's a big list as I was a total twat for much of my life. Phil
  10. I knew the "sound" of the record but never the title. Just knew when i played it that it was a record I'd heard out & about, and that I liked it. I wasn't going to that many do's in the early 90's, and didn't really buy records much other than numerous trips to the states. It was only later when I started going again regularly and DJ'ing at the odd soul night that I found that it was very sought after, hence later selling it to Carl Willingham. But even then I didn't realise just how obscure it really was.
  11. I never had a clue how rare this was when I got it. And didn't really have when I sold it some 8/9 years later either, or i would never have got rid of it for what i did. The irony of it is that I sold it to fund another trip to the US, then got locked up for 3 months 2 days before I was due to go. So I lost the ticket money etc etc and gained nothing Such is life. Phil
  12. I also found a copy of this in Detroit. I got mine in 1991 at Street Corner Music in Ferndale, MI. Later sold it to Carl Willingham. I had always thought that these Moments (on Hog) were the same Moments that recorded on the Detroit label "Hit Productionsl" amongst others" But I bow to your awesome knowledge Rob, as the name Mizell does appear on the label. Phil
  13. Has to be Little Milton for me. Wonderful, emotional delivery. Those Chess brothers knew a good thing wehn they heard it. I could listen to Little Milton "more and more all the time". Phil
  14. No. The production may not be to everyone's taste. But to dismiss this as "cash in rubbish", no matter what your opinion of Levine - the man or his music, is just plain wrong. IF he ever ends up making anything like "real money" out of this then I would be very surprised. Like it or not it was a genuine (albeit at times one-sided) attempt to give some of the best loved songs and artistes that make up this genre that we call Northern Soul a one and only (and for some it was because they're now dead) chance to get their stuff out on video to their fans. Levine has done some great stuff, some good stuff, some mediocre stuff and some right old cack, but at least he's done stuff. This video or DVD is, to my mind, verging on great in places (irrespective of whatever you may think of the video production techniques). I know that Levine can be his own worst enemy, but to dismiss this video as rubbish is way off the mark. Phil
  15. Well you can't have one of mine. My less than perfect copy will be going to E0999 for the princely sum of £0 Sorry! Phil
  16. I think that's more than a bit overpriced. Would have thought £8-£10 tops. Since when has quality ever had any bearing on price? In fact. I have a VG- yellow issue. It can go for free, just cost of postage. Phil
  17. How much does this go for? I have issues on both red and yellow labels Phil
  18. I'll try and dig them all out and mp3 'em and post 'em up. There's also 2 versions of a little leon (or summat like that) too. i got multiple copies of them all years ago from Bob Lee in Detroit. Somebody had just brought them in as a job lot all mint / unplayed so he charged me $2 each Happy days. Same trip is where I got all the Invictus / Hot waX / Music merchant stuff. Also $2 each. Phil
  19. I'll do an mp3 of it tomorrow or Wednesday. Just need to rig up the laptop to the stereo again. I just sold one of these on ebay last week. They have a different number in the run-out groove. The strings version has an X suffix or maybe it's the other way round, can't remember. There are 2 different versions of Milton Harris - She's Hurting Me as well as The Majestees too. Phil
  20. I have a couple of these. Mint / Unplayed condition. Phil
  21. I'm in the middle of putting together a soul band (just as a hobby / laugh). Still need drummer, keyboards & bass guitar. The rest of us are in Bradford/ Leeds so anybody intersted must be within easy travelling distance. If anybody interested please PM. phil
  22. I've got this. Dark Turquoise label. i seem to remember it was not very good. i'll dig it out
  23. I never checked before, but will definitely do so from now on. An unconfirmed address means NO seller protection. I'll just put this down to experience.
  24. bump
