  11. That's always been one of my problems. Well, that and being the wrong shape as well But still, I hope the problems are resolved. I can't wait to get down Cineworld to see this when it comes out.
  12. About 10 years ago at The Griffin Niter, Leeds. I bought a luvverly mint copy of Abstract Reality on Sport. The only one I needed to complete the label. I was too lazy to put it in my DJ box, so I put it in my bag near the front desk. About an hour later I was all "enthusiastic", put my bag on a chair, sat on it and both heard and felt the crack. That was bad enough, but when I got home as the crack was very clean I decided to "mend" it with superglue. Have you ever seen what superglue does to styrene Phil
  13. We're not just testing the water, the discs are in production at the factory right now. Money has been spent and will continue to be spent. This is just the first release of a number we've committed to do. Sparked initially by my and Ian D's enthusiasm for Cafe Regio's, yes. But is now a bonafide vinyl-only record label project There are initially 12 45's to be released at a rate of one about every 4 to 6 weeks, and we'll see after that. How many do you need for wholesale Pete? Phil
  14. Sherman Nesbury used to be in The Admirations I believe. Phil
  15. They cost more than the general issues, as you still have to have 1000 pairs of labels printed, 95% of which just go straight in the bin. There's only a few of these available for sale. Some people like promo's, so there's a few for sale (I estimate about 20-25). It's instantly rare, higher unit cost of production so sells for a higher price. Nobody has to buy it. Apart from that we need to sell a whole bucket load of the actual issues to even break even, let alone make money. Phil
  16. I sincerely hope not . I am just busting with anticipation at it coming out.
  17. Don't know that particular church. A portion of my income from whatever source, however, does go to my church.
  18. We're certainly going to give it a try
  19. The buzz will be even bigger once these babies hit the street The combination of the fantastic track together with the wonderful label design will be irresistible.
  20. I had some great stuff off Mr Battinich @ Dugout over the years. I got 2 copies of Vel-Vets off him at the same time as The Classics (I think he got more than the one copy) together with the Servicemen - Sweet Magic, which went to Andy Dyson. Franks used to be on W.63rd too, opposite side of the road to Record Dugout but only about 300 yards further down the road toward the airport. last time I went there was around '94 I think. When on a buying trip with Pat Brady (the '94 trip I think) we got The Poets on J-2 out of Franks. Phil
  21. Thanks Bob. You're a fount of knowledge when it comes to Chicago stuff. I've got the Yan-G record, and have had it a total of 3 times. Many years ago now, once from a guy called Art morales (now sadly dead), once from Record Dugout on W.63rd (I think that came from Phil orsi) and the other one just across the road at Frank's Records. Wish I'd kept 'em all Phil
  22. Thanks for the info Bob. I thought so. was Yan-G one of Phil orsi's labels? I haven't come across this before, and i've been to Chicago many, many times buying records and had "most" of the stuff out of there at one time or another. Is it particluarly rare, obscure? Or have I just managed to miss it? Thanks Phil
