Well in my opinion for what it's worth (not a great deal I know). I think it's great. Just got the test pressings yesterday and they sound fantastic! It sounds so much better on vinyl than any digital version I have heard. In fact I like it so much I'm releasing on vinyl imminently Plenty of people will love it I'm sure. I know I do. Phil

Well I stand by my earlier comment that you don't have to be stupid not to use snipes. Why not just bid as much as you're willing to pay for an item and then forget it? That's what I do and I win a LOT of records, and not just on ebay. Phil

You know what Ken? You're right. I think it was just the old (pre-christian) me rearing his ugly head, being possessive etc etc. Thanks you for showing me the light (and I mean that sincerely, not sarcastically). I will be altering my will this week and instructing them to organise a post-mortem auction of my vinyl. That way the church will benefit and do some good with the dosh. Phil

Why selfish? I'll be leaving everything else to good causes They probably won't be worth owt by the time I peg it anyway (which will hopefully still be a while off yet), and I don't know if any of my family that would be bothered to take the trouble to sort 'em out.

I don't use snipers and I don't class myself as "stupid". I just put a bid in for what I'm willing to pay, and if I don't win it's fine as it obviously went for more than I wanted to pay. I don't really care if I have to pay the top amount I bid. That's fine by me. And, yes, I have very occasionally got involved in a last minute bidding war to win something. But again I don't care. The money's irrelevant if it's something I want, and the fun of the last minute bidding is worth the extra. Phil

Well I don't really care how high an auction goes. Like I said I'll usually make an early bid for as much as I'm willing to pay. If I win and pay the full amount of my bid I'm still happy. If I lose then it was higher than I wanted to pay so I'm still happy. Bob & Fred is a good example, I bid $830.00, it's gone above that now so I won't win the record, but I'm not overly bothered as I already have a VG copy of it. Some you win, some you lose. But I win more than I lose. I must admit it can be a little frustrating to lose out on $1000 record by $10-$20 though Phil

I am one of the guilty ones. From my perspective, if I see summat I want I'll usually try and bid the max I want to pay straight away, then I don't have to waste time constantly looking at the same items over and over again. I don't always have time to spend looking at ebay and often records I bid on end at times that are inconvenient for me to bid last minute. So if I pay more than I may have done by waiting, then I really don't care. I'll never pay more than my maximum bid will I? And to me that's what the record is worth to me. Make sense? Phil

I don't think so. Coupla grand or so a week would do it. Why would you need more than one venue? The whole point of a weekly venue would be to have one venue, surely? I remember when I was promoting a lot back in the late 80's early 90's, used to run sometimes 6 all-niters a month and the constant request was for just one venue every week. Admittedly it may be very different now. I'm not thinking of having a go though Too many other stuff going on. Maybe when I retire in 3 or 4 years though .....
