  1. Just tried again. Not the best result. Am I doing something wrong? Phil
  2. Don't remember any fresh faced lad from Reading. I do remember some ugly tall tw*t called Bignall or summat tho
  3. I prefer to clean them myself. Although I never actually get round to doing it. Phil
  4. Chart? I don't even have an A to Z
  5. Absolutely. I'll get the knack sooner or later

  8. No. Not me. Phil
  9. That's it's charm. The sheer non-perfection of it. Brilliant! I'm not aware of any more records he made. But just imagine there may be a tape or an acetate somewhere of a version of Fascinating Girl with barrel organ accompaniment Phil

  11. I know what you mean. With the odd one or two I've now got back just about every record that i sold, and am now underway with the project to get every record i ever wanted. That project will take me beyond my lifetime however, as I want 'em all Amd it is exciting to watch auctions and to take part in them. I have mostly sworn off ebay now but when a "must have" turns up i can't help meself. Phil
  12. Yeah but like I've said so many times before, anything's worth what someone will pay for it. Over the years I've had so many stuff for next to nowt it kind of evens itself out - Moments on Hog - $2.00 (sold for £990), Danny Moore $0.25 (sold for £1000), George Lemons - $1.00 (sold for £1400). If I'm driving up prices on stuff then sorry (not really ). I sold quite a few of my bigger stuff years ago when I was out of work and skint. Mostly to dealers who took advantage of my circumstances. Now I am blessed to be in a position to be able to pay, within reason, whatever it takes to get them back. Phil
  13. Yes. But just like Ray Pollard I wanted it. I used to have it and sold it 10 years ago (for £1400 so the inflations not that much really) when skint. I have an ambition to get back every record that i ever had. And I will. Phil
  14. Please do. It's good to have 2 copies of anything if possible. Phil
  15. Absolutely! And just goes to prove that all those naysayers who spout on about Wigan being just about poppy cr*p are talking utter ballcocks My Wigan years (78-81) gave first time airings to probably some of the best tunes this scene ever has or will see. Phil
  16. Without a shadow of a doubt Phil
  17. Court Davis now sorted
  18. SC is sheer soul perfection. There are a couple of more recent interpretations that also hit the spot for me. One by Lauryn Hil. The other by The Gospel phil
  19. No. Not aware of problems with any Ebay seller. Just that I have seen the light and Ebay is no longer the way to buy records for me. Phil
  20. Couple more added. Please PM with price & condition if you have any of them. Thanks Phil
  21. Being totally honest, I only go to certain venues to flyer for my own event. And to others to hear great music and have a good time. I've been to some great events recently though with brill tunes. Phil
  22. Yes. I rarely DJ anywhere apart from my own infrequent nights these days, and do enjoy going out and about. Though I don't go out as much as I used to. Phil
  23. Thanks. I normally win by just putting in a series of ever increasing bids. I win some and lose some. I'll give it a go. Phil
  24. Couple of wants. please PM with price and condition. Court Davis - The Lover Who Loves You Not The Poets - Wrapped Around Your Finger Don Gardner - Cheating Kind Trends - Thanks For A Little Lovin' Cheers Phil
  25. I would quite like it, but I won't be winning it. I've taken some wise advice and now am not bidding on Ebay. I was gonna go up to $5k ish on this but no more. Thankfully my "test" bid of $3888 has now been beat. I'll stick to "proper" sources from now on. No point paying over the odds any more. Phil
