  1. A couple of songs I have heard recently, a vocal version of Frantic Escape by the Innocent Bystanders and a version of Shing-A-Ling by The Cooperettes, with different lyrics and Artist. Any idea what the song titles are ?
  2. Regarding “Hold back the Night “, the instrumental “Scrub Board “ was/is popular and still gets plays on the scene to this day.
  3. In Australia in April, and did the Bondi to Coogee coastal walk. Stopped for drink at a beach cafe and Make me yours by Bettye Swann was playing.
  4. I was in Wigan last week for the first time in decades, so decided to have a walk round the town centre and have a look at the Casino plaque. Found it eventually.
  5. Heres a few I remember from those days Paula Parfitt - Love is wonderful. Dobie Gray - Out on the floor Chuck Wood - 7 days too long Weakspot - Evelyn Thomas Where is the love - Betty Wright The Flasher - Mistura Moody Woman - Jerry Butler + anything off Jumping at the go go and Motown chartbuster albums.
  6. Used to go to the Fleet on & off from 1979 to 1986, Remember the Modern sounds, Independant women - jan Jones, How can I tell her - Curtis. My baby's got ESP - Four below zero. Even heard Searching - Change and Never too much - Luther Vandross played. Went to one of the modern dos upstairs @ the pizza place, the sounds were great but don't remember it being well supported.

  8. Excellent read lots of memories there,and a good overview of the scene post Wigan.
  9. Just got mine, impressed with it all, format , cd labels, track listing, book. Looking forward to watching the DVDs later. Well done to everyone involved.

  11. Heard The Fascinations 'Girls are out to get you' in M&S in Peterborough a few weeks ago.
  12. I prefer the Johnny Howard version myself, but like The Artistics too. Talking of The Artistics ,Hope we have is a great track. Looking forward to The Film, I am sure it will show the scene as we remember it in the 70s. Thought Paul Masons doc for the Culture show was refreshing but the One Show not so, but still better than the cringe fest on the Paul OGrady show a few years ago.
