Underground Fla. Disco Breaks -Shufflin Tymes "King Kong Boogie"
Colin Mannex replied to Colin Mannex's topic in Record Sales
Reduced to $70 for quick sale. Priced at $100 on Discogs. -
One last conflicted sale. Shufflin Tymes - King Kong Boogie (Lita) EX $90 From the same amazing, underground Florida disco label that produced Pearly Queen comes this rare open drum template and driving groove. So what if the vocals are cheese? Double up them and work something out with 90 seconds of pure funk, as provided. PayPal gift ($4 U.S. / $14 World) This is my copy for sale: 14014286_1016128908506100_667755616_n.mp4

[SOLD] Ronnie Love - Nothing to It, Vise - We Tried We Made It

Vise SOLD -
Yvonne Gray - Keep the Music Alive (Trac) NM $75 I just know that some collector is going to want this unknown cut, ripe for today's scene. No sales history. No YouTube clips. The video is from my only copy. Note: Gray released her only album in '75 with a funky horn track by the same name. This is a completely different song. Beautiful voice and tight construction. Should make for an interesting addition to any continental modern/crossover set. 14013785_1298624680187836_553753982_n.mp4

Since I've had a bit of luck today, here's two more dancers: Ronnie Love - Nothing to It / Let's Make Love (Almeria) purple U.S. promo VG++ Beauty. $35. Timeless production from Greg Carmicheal, who collaborated frequently with Pete Brown and Patrick Adams, and inspired the namesake of my all-time favorite DJ in the U.K. scene today. Forget the trivia; this double-slice of modern soul and disco needs no introduction. The 12" goes for lots of money. It's a bargain here, as the next cheapest copies listed on Discogs are $50-60 in similar condition. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jLVitZy2sK0 Vise - We Tried We Made It / Baby, I Love You (Chocolate Mama) Re NM $35. This is the kind of record you never want to leave at home. Guaranteed to get the party rocking. Jokesters on Discogs want $80 or more for the same issue. Don't give it to them! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gEZYrH4Ax6g Paypal gift, plus shipping ($4 U.S. / $14 world). Clips are not from the records for sale.

Two great records that always make people ask me, "What's this?!?" 1.) Quinn Harris - I'll Always Love You / Protect Me from Myself (M.L.E.) Shiny VG+ clean labels, plays great. Few stray, wispy marks DNAP. $175. Two superb soul sides. "I'll Always Love You" has been getting a lot of spins in modern rooms throughout Europe. A dramatic intro paves the way for an uplifting dancer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-AcmxznpVQ The flip, though, remains something of a secret weapon for funk nuts in the U.S. "Protect Me From Myself" will bring this record up in value once more people know about it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0dSKzvlJ8rU 2.) Bill Murphy Plus One - Ain't No Big Thing / Happy Days Are-A-Comin' (Martin) VG++ Beauty! $200 (Sold recently on Facebook at 180GBP in similar condition.) Modern/Crossover collectors swear that Murphy's take surpasses The Radiants' supposedly definitive recording. With a track so sweet, who could muster the vitriol to argue one way or the other? Let the music move you: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_ZAVtBuwhU Paypal gift, plus shipping ($4 U.S. / $14 World). Clips not from the copies for sale.

Forgot that there's also a modern audience for Kapp Ivory Project. Some people have been asking about sound quality on "It's Over." This side plays with some crackle and hiss in the first 15-20 seconds, but then it clears up nicely as the instrumentation picks up. A few light signs of scruffiness throughout, but still an enjoyable listen. Here's a sample of the actual record for sale: https://www.dropbox.com/s/rrxwd8sdi3ohg9u/VIDEO0492.mp4?dl=0 -

Doris Troy - Hurry / He Don't Belong to Me (Atlantic WLP) Ex - $70 $60 This record has been picking up steam as it has appeared on several influential playlists over the past 18 months. The ballad has the right sound for today's Southern Souleros collectors. "Hurry" moves at 100 mph on the dance floor. I love this record very much. It's my only spare. (The white promo is rarer than the red issue.) Susan Christie - No One Can Hear You Cry / When Love Comes (Chante) Ex - $60 $50 Haunting psych-folk ballad with lush arrangement. This 45 should cause a stir for collectors with a desire for unreleased gems. The full-length album that this single was intended to support did not come out until Finders Keepers pulled it from the vaults in 2006. "Yesterday, Where is My Mind" created a sensation for its acid funk. This track wraps the same psychic distress in a musical balm.
