A bit late to the question, however, there are many records that stood out amongst some absolute dross DJ's were pushing out to find the latest big sound at venues in the 70s but that is what was going on at that time. The dross has been dropped, quite rightly and what is left is what defines Northern Soul to me. Most have already been mentioned but the one that stood out to me and will always take be back to those halcyon days, sung with the passion I felt for the scene; The Four Perfections - I'm Not Strong Enough However, we will never get the Northern Soul Scene back as it was, it was more than the music.

Greg, Not only pop in but for a great hand pulled pint, for those of us that don't like fizzy alcohol, great music and support a worthy charity and then onto the Spa for great music and a dance and support another worthy charity is all part of the Brid weekender. Bring it on! Stuart -

Totally agree, I know I also went places but don't remember where apart from the usual we all went to in the early seventies. The other thing is the number of photos people seem to have. The only one I have is of me at the Catacombs, we never took a camera anywhere and only had one that night as it was the last one.

There were two all-nighters held at the Queens Hall, Leeds, as stated is was a huge old tram shed. Went to both, didn't learn from the first hoping second would have been sorted, it wasn't it was just as bad.

I have sold a few items (not records) always waiting for the £1 maximum selling fee offer. Sold an item for £370 + £10 postage, two days later received direct into my bank account £379. No paypal fees as there would have been under old system. Will just see how it pans out with EB though.
