  1. Perhaps the use of the term 'policing' was incorrect in my previous point #58, I didn't mean start reporting folk to th authorities, just not allow obvious boots to be sold / promoted through this site?. I used the term to mean deleting any adverts / links to these types of records. Nor am I saying these new breed of boot with the exact copy labels are been advertised on here but should we tolerate any non legitimate record to be advertised?. There is always ebay, discogs, FB for the boots etc. just not this site?. However, there are many discussions on this site about which is the original of many records, correct label print, matrix, dimples vs. no dimples, we might as well just shut up and face facts, what would we discussed if there were no boots.
  2. What??, how do you retract a bid.
  3. Not easy to police but how many non legit records are sold in the sales section on this site or have links to non legit sales on other sites? If we can not be bothered how can we complain about other sites like ebay not policing this problem effectively.
  4. pm'd you
  5. Posted on Ebay last night Rubin - You've Been Away - KAPP WD Original in VG condition low start bid. Take a look !. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rubin-Youve-Been-Away-KAPP-demo-Original-VG-45rpm-7inch-/191503112701?pt=UK_Records&hash=item2c967999fd
  6. Original The Flirtations Stronger Than Her Love Festival 705 prefer vinyl but styrene considered in right condition At least VG+ and reasonably priced.
  7. Must find the original picture used for my profile (its a cropped version). This was taken at the last catacombs allnighter and shows the church bench type seats and wall colours. Think I have a couple of photos of that night somewhere.
  8. Just to confirm that I had read something along the lines that the Linda/Rampart versions are different to the WB version, not to say this is a 'truth' or these facts are correct but to justify my purchase of the WB version not as a rerelease!. JM selling a WB stock copy stated; Published on 24 Jul 2014 RARE STOCK copy, so rarely seen for sale. Eddie Davis reworks The Majestics - Linda recording to great effect, lush strings, hand-claps, finger-popping & some intricate violin plucking…not forgetting those soaring horns blaring down as if from on high. Fabulous production and different enough to the one 4 years earlier that is considered a Northern Soul classic.. ............. And on that well know blog, wwwyoufoundtheeastsidesoundcom.BlogSpot states There were three Majestics groups!, and also stating that Eddie Davis took the Majestics master to Warner Bros and used the Ralph Ventura Mariachi Group (group that backed Linda Ronstadt) and put in horns and violins. WB released the record in 1969 WB7316 Can anyone verify/confirm or is this incorrect info. Dose not really matter just love the record.
  9. Thought I had read somewhere that the WB release was a new recording by the same artists (without intro to distinguish it) making both the Linda and WB originals? Sold a pup perhaps.
  10. Thanks for the info so far, going with original as it does have a nashville matrix stamp, but the lettering colour i will reserve until i see it in natural light. It also looks like the original record numbers were reversed and 'Being With You' was issued as 205-1726 and not 205-1725 which was used on the Baby,Baby side. A production error or BWY was meant to be the 'B' side?. Something else i have noted on Deesu records produced by Dover the 'Produced by Dover' titles at the bottom of the records are never equi distant from the edge of the labels, they seem to drift toward one edge. The silver lettered boot 'produced by dover' lettering is equally spaced from the label edge. Perhaps i have been staring at labels too long?
  11. Can anyone assist please, trying to authenticate if I have an original Maurice Williams Being Without You on Deesu. I have read all the SS topics and the Deesu discog thread but here are my questions, on a Green label and looking very like JM original scan in boot guide; 1. The record numbers are reversed I.e. Being With You is 205-1726 and Baby,Baby is 205-7125. The matrix numbers also share this reversal. 2. According to JM guide lettering on an original is Gold and boot is Silver. The one I have is silver in a bright light. Can someone confirm how deep the gold colour is on another original please. Finally yes it does have a stamped Nashville Matrix at about 11 o'clock and the scratched matrix number at 1o'clock followed by COS (C is very curled) and 75 at about 10 o'clock. Guidance would be great. thanks in advance for any thoughts Stuart
  12. If you want a new 1200 type deck, take a look at the 'Reloop 7000' deck, about £360. I have a 6000 but think they have moved on to 7000 now.
  13. Thanks for response, I saw it and gave up bidding when it got to a price well above what I think it's worth. Don't mind paying a reasonable price but jm auctions prices go well above and I dislike added 5mins after supposed end to lose out.
  14. Connie Clark - My Sugar Baby - Joker - Original If anyone wants to set free from their collection the above for a reasonable but fair price please pm thanks
  15. Hoping it will detract from all the other auction items and there might be a bargain to be had, although Jades is still a bit high.
  16. Preordered bluray just delivered, on a Sunday!, from Amazon. Leeds central alldayer this afternoon followed by the film in comfort of own home. Great end to weekend. Will see film before taking stock of comments above both positive and not so positive.
  17. Thanks, got it.
  18. Can someone advise at what time in the two hour radio 5 podcast the film is reviewed please don't want to listen to the whole show.
  19. Now sorted.
  20. Alice Clark You Hit Me on original Warner Bros, issue preferred but dj ok. vg+ or better. Please pm with grade and price.
  21. no. 1439 received, had problems with Temptations, slipping, jumping etc. realised that record wouldn't sit on deck properly as the edge around the hole was very proud of the record, Kim Weston played fine. Managed to indent slip mat around spindle just enough to get record to sit firmly on deck and record now plays fine. Great records c**p quality. Stuart
