    The Harold's got it all - a warm welcome & fab, friendly atmosphere; great sound system with request-friendly DJs - if they've got it with them, they'll play it for you! There's a top-notch dance floor with absolutely no need at all for talc; bar prices at WMC rates; large car park & good transport links. It's situated on the main road, with easy access from Chain Bar Roundabout, regular busses from Bradford, Brighouse, Leeds & Huddersfield & it's also close to Low Moor train station. There's even a nice hotel (The Guide Post) less than 10 mins walk away for those who fancy making a weekend of it! We tend to limit numbers to 120 max in order to make sure everyone has a seat & also a space on a not-too-crowded dance floor, so please be early to avoid disappointment. OUR GUEST DJ THIS MONTH IS THE ONE AND ONLY MOPSEY Hope you can make it to join us & don't forget your dancing shoes!

    As per usual, Soul Brew will be playing a good mix of favourite old stompers, rare & underplayed with a nice bit of 60s R&B thrown in for good measure....... all played with the dancers in mind - BRING IT ON!!! THIS WILL BE OUR LAST EVENT AT THE HAROLD BEFORE CHRISTMAS!! DON'T FORGET TO GET YOUR TICKETS FOR BOXING NIGHT.

    I've just watched Threads again - I'd forgotten just how harrowing it was to watch too. Definitely a must watch but as you say, for all the wrong reasons.

    Here's a sample of the bar prices at The Harold (correct at the time of posting):- Tetley's/John Smith's....... 3.70 Carling/Coors........ 4.00 Fosters....... 3.90 San Miguel...... 4.20 Guinness........ 4.30 Cider....... 3.60 Not bad eh? NB - THIS LIST WAS QUOTED PRIOR TO THE BUDGET, SO MIGHT BE SUBJECT TO CHANGE. THE HAROLD BAR PRICES HAVE ALWAYS BEEN VERY GOOD THEREFORE ANY PRICE INCREASES WILL HAVE BEEN KEPT TO THE BAREST POSSIBLE MINIMUM.

    Hi all - Kath here with a bit of feedback from last night at The Harold Club. By the time we officially opened the doors at 8pm, we had around 20 people in, so it was already shaping up to be a good night. In the end we didn't have quite so many as on our first few events at The Harold due to other events nearby, but still a decent turn out with a great atmosphere. All the feedback was good & absolutely everyone said they'd had a really good night. The DJs played a good range of tunes - big thanks to Soul Brew DJs Marc, Stuart & Steve - plus our guest DJ Lawrence Grimshaw - for keeping the dance floor busy. Well done guys! Thanks to all those who turned out to support us - as always you are all very much appreciated! Thanks too to Chris Jenkinson, who took lots of photos of the night. Now we're looking forward to our next event at The Harold on Friday 15th November, when our guest DJ will be Steve Sowerbuttts & the tunes will be banging oldies & stompers all the way! Hope you can make it to join us.

    I saw it first time round - saved it to watch again when I can steel myself to do it. As you say Mike - well worth a watch but for the wrong reasons.

    Did anyone watch "Till" on BBC2 on Sunday night? It's based on a true story exposing racism in 1950s Mississippi, when a 14 year old boy was murdered for paying a compliment to a white woman. Very sad story & well worth watching.
