Soul Brew have been told recently that Low Moor Club is definitely closing & that the new owners won't be carrying on as a club, but we're still not sure of the exact date - it all depends on how long the sale takes to go through.

My guess is that the club will go on up until the end of this year & then won't open up again in the New Year, so we only have our November event on Friday the 25th & then our Christmas do on Saturday the 17th December. Let's make both of them an absolute BLAST! 🎉 💃🕺🍻🍷

It will be a sad day for all of us to see the club close, 😢 but watch this space.........Soul Brew have plans..........😉😉

Hi all - Kath here with a bit of feedback from last night - BOOOOOM!!🧨🔥🧨🔥

People started to trickle in before we'd even opened up & it wasn't very long before we had a good turnout. Soul Brew DJs Marc Silverside & Stuart Eastwood - plus guest DJ Steve Sowerbutts - played a selection of storming tunes that kept the dance floor very busy - well done guys!:thumbup::thumbup:

The atmosphere was great - we had some brilliant feedback from around the room & everyone said what a great night they'd had. Well done too to the bar staff - the room-full of thirsty dancers kept them very busy all night!

Last but by no means least, a huge thanks to all who chose to join Soul Brew at The Low Moor last night - your support is as always very much appreciated - we couldn't do it without you! 🥰🥰

Looking forward now to Friday the 25th November, when our guest DJ for the night will be Stuart Arber (Crigg Soul Club) - hope you will all be able to join us & we can do it all again!

Now for some sad news! We at Soul Brew have known since we set up our soul nights at The Low Moor that the club was up for sale, so we were all very much aware that our events there would probably only be for a limited amount of time. Now there is a big, red SOLD sign above the door & as yet we have no idea of the fate of the club once the sale goes through. 😢

So many of us - including me - have lots of very happy memories of the storming soul nights at The Low Moor, dating right back to when Paul Mitchell originally set up his beloved Black Cat Soul Nights at the club all those years ago.

Soul Brew have a couple more events booked at The Low Moor - up until December - but after that - who knows? Let's all make the most of the club (and that oh-so-cheap bar!!) while we still can & make some nights to remember!

Looks as though Marc's been a busy lad picking out his tunes for tonight - let's make it a cracker while we still have the club - it's not going to last much longer! Another 2 events at the most... we think.....🎵 🍻 🕺💃🎶

Here are the DJ times for Saturday night :-

    8pm - 9pm - Stuart Eastwood

    9pm - 10pm - Marc Silverside

    10pm - 11pm Steve Sowerbutts

    11pm - 12.15 Stuart & Marc double-decking

            BRING YOUR DANCING SHOES!!!

People often ask about the bar prices at The Low Moor - I don't have an exact price list, but as a rough guide our first round of drinks at last month's event consisted of 3 pints of assorted beers, 1 dry white wine with soda & a soft drink (can't remember exactly what) The total cost for all 5 drinks came to the grand sum of 12.50 - not bad at all!!

   🍻🍷🍺

Hats off to The Low Moor for managing to keep their prices so competitive - in so many other venues the drinks prices seem to be going up in leaps & bounds! 👍👍👍👍👍👍

Hi all - Kath here. First of all I want to say a huge thank you to all who came to support Soul Brew at The Low Moor last night!

Thanks too to Marc Silverside, Carl & Stuart Eastwood, plus guest DJ Mark I'Anson - you all played some storming tunes. We had a fab mix of Northern, R&B & rarer tunes, plus a few that I've not heard played out much at all since my misspent teenage years at various all-nighters! Well done guys - you nailed it!

Well done too to The Low Moor for keeping the bar prices so amazingly low! I was fully expecting them to have risen considerably by now, but no - still an extremely cheap bar compared to other venues. Big up to The Low Moor! 👍👍👍

Please don't forget that Soul Brew have had to bring our next event forward by a week to Saturday the 22nd October, as both Marc & Carl will be in the States Djing at Detroit-a-Go-Go.

Once again - thanks for supporting us & thanks for dancing - hope to see you all again next month!:thumbup:

Yes, hoping to join you . Hope someone's got Burnt Toast and black coffee in their record box ??

It'll be great to see you Coconut! I know Carl's got Burnt Toast by Mike Pedicin - it's one of my favourites.  I'll tell him to play it for you xx

People often ask us about bar prices, so here are a few examples:-

    Coors - 3.00

    Carlsberg - 3.00

    Madri - 3.20

    Worthington - 2.65

These prices were all correct at the time of posting - but like everything else at the mo - things can vary subject to inflation!

    Hi all - Kath here.

First of all I want to say a huge THANK YOU to all who came to join Soul Brew at The Low Moor last night.

Hats off to the DJs - you all played storming sets that kept the dance floor busy all night. Well done guys - you nailed it again! It was also really good to see some of the regulars from previous soul nights at The Low Moor - old friends & new are always very welcome.

From September onwards, our regular events at The Low Moor will be on the last Saturday of every month (subject to the club being available - if the room's booked for a wedding etc then we might find that we need to be a bit flexible!) Our next event at The Low Moor is on Saturday 24th September.

Once again - thanks for coming - thanks for dancing - let's do it all again next month!

    Luv from Kath xx

Nice one Easty!  When Paul Mitchell set up the soul nights at The Low Moor around 10 years ago, The Drifter was always his favourite tune to end the night. Even though Paul is no longer living in the area & can't make it to the soul nights now, I know he will be pleased to know that his old favourite is still being played there - you would get a massive thumbs up from Paul 👍👍👍

Just been onto Low Moor Club to ask for a few examples of the bar prices so here goes:-

    Coors - 3.00

     Carlsberg - 3.00

    Madri - 3.20

    Worthington - 2.65

    🍻 🍻 🍻 🍻 🍻

After Soul Brew's first event at The Low Moor, I'm really looking forward to this! The music & atmosphere last month were spot-on & the feedback that we had on the night was great.👍👍

Soul Brew DJ Marc Silverside is unable to join us for this event, so Steve, Stuart & Carl will be spinning the vinyl to keep the dance floor busy.  Bring it on guys!!💃 🕺💃🕺

    Hi all Kath here

I just want to say a massive thank you to all who attended Soul Brew's event last night at The Low Moor - your support is as always very much appreciated!

The atmosphere was great & all the DJs - Stephen Yendley: Stuart Eastwood; Marc Silverside & Carl Eastwood, plus guest DJ Tom Wheelhouse - played storming tunes that kept the floor busy all night. The feedback I've heard so far - both last night & again today - has all been very positive.

I just KNEW that there would be some of the regular soul night attendees from way-back-when asking for Soul Brew to put on more soul nights at The Low Moor! We are only too happy to oblige, so we have spoken to the club steward & booked Friday 19th August for our next event & then again on Saturday 24th September.

It's still early days, so there will be more info to follow in due course.

Once again - thanks for coming - thanks for dancing & hope to see you all again next month!

    Kath xx

Having ran the Black Cat at Low Moor for many years I'd like to wish the best of luck to Soul Brew, I hope you have a great night.

Sorry I can't make it, I'd still like to request a track if possible?

The Drifter by Ray Pollard. Always one of our favourites near the end of the night and I know that Kath really likes it too!

Thanks Paul - that means a lot! Hope you're keeping well & we can all meet up again soon. xx 😉

  1. Thanks to all those who chose to join us at Lightcliffe last night - despite numbers being a tad on the low side due to so many clashing events, we all had a great night Thanks too & well done to DJs Marc Silverside; Steve Yendley; Stuart Eastwood; & Carl Eastwood, plus special guest DJ Mike Eastwood - the music was spot on - you nailed it again guys!:thumbup:

Now we are looking forward to our next event on Saturday 30th July, when Barnsley lad Tom Wheelhouse will be joining us to spin a few tunes on the Lightcliffe decks. Bring it on!🙂🙂
