  1. Hi all - Kath here with a bit of feedback from last night at The Harold Club. It was bloody FAB - we had around 20 people in before we'd even opened the doors, so we knew we were in for a busy night!! The atmosphere was great from the get-go & it was really good to see so many of the old regular faces back at The Harold. Thanks & well-done to Soul Brew Djs Marc, Steve, Stuart & Carl, plus guest Dj Chris Wormald - you nailed it guys! That dance floor was busy all night. Thanks too to both Marc Wilby & Tanya Wormald for taking pics of the night. I've found a few bits of nice feedback today, so here goes: - "Harold club soul night great night lovely see some old friends." "lovely to see this soul club back on the map and have a chance to catch up with some old friends we can’t wait to come back" "All having a great time dancing to the music " "a great crowd at The Harold" "we had a fab night .. was lovely to see everyone x" "A most delightful night!" "I'm really happy that Harold club is back on Great djs fantastic tunes n floor fillers. Friendly people n really nice floor n parking" Last but by no means least - thanks to all who came to support Soul Brew last night. Let's do it all again next month when our guest Dj will be none other than Lawrence Grimshaw. PS - Chris - the Harold Club steward - is so pleased with how things are going with Soul Brew that he was really keen to book us in for next year! So.......we are now in the Harold diary for every 3rd Friday right up until Boxing Night 2025!
  2. It's all sounding like The Harold's in for yet another busy night! Best get those dancing shoes ready................
  3. I'm halfway through it & had pretty much the same thoughts - police incompetence etc. I reckon a bit of dramatic license makes for a more dramatic story-line - bit like some of the British press! Gripping series & well worth watching none the less. Have to say I do like to watch the French programmes - not only are they usually very good, they also help me to keep up with my French! Also just watched The Hunt for Raoul Moat (old series that was repeated very recently) Well worth another watch - it's easy to forget just how horrific it all was for those involved & also for the residents of the area.
  4. I'll second that one Peter - it gets a thumbs down from me too!
  5. R.I.P. Frankie & thank you for the music xx
  6. I think The Game (Cold War spy thriller set in the 1970s) on BBC Iplayer is well worth a watch. I've found quite a few decent dramas on there recently.
  7. Is anyone watching Sherwood on BBC 1? It gets a big thumbs up from me - I do like my gritty dramas!
  8. Soul Brew's next event at The Harold Club, Low Moor. Well worth a visit!
  9. Sad news - saw him at The Wheel back in the 1960s
  10. Brenda Holloway did You Didn't say a Word too, but it's Yvonne Baker's version every time for me
  11. I'm half-way through the first episode of Dead and Buried on BBCIplayer & I'm already hooked! Well worth watching.
  12. Soul Brew's seventh year at Jeremy's & still going from strength to strength - every month it's a packer. Music & atmosphere is always spot on - well done guys - you nailed it!
  13. Here's a sample of the bar prices at The Harold (correct at the time of posting):- Tetley's/John Smith's....... 3.70 Carling/Coors........ 4.00 Fosters....... 3.90 San Miguel...... 4.20 Guinness........ 4.30 Cider....... 3.60 Not bad eh?
