  1. I've just finished watching Dark Hearts - it was absolutely brilliant! Very tense & every bit as good as series1 - massive ๐Ÿ‘from me. Tried to manage without the subtitles but my French isn't quite good enough for that .....
  2. And yet another update on my whine problem......new cables didn't help either - I've been advised to buy some ferrite beads. No idea what they are! I've read up so much about them today but it may as well all be in Russian lol. Says if I buy the wrong sort it could make the problem worse.....I've just found some on ebay- bought some but no idea if they will work or not. Me & techno stuff are definitely not a good mix but I've got to get rid of this whine......!๐Ÿคฃ
  3. Is anyone watching King & Conqueror? I was really looking forward to it....so much hype but I was a bit disappointed at first...now almost at the end with only 2 more episodes to go & I think it's growing on me at last!
  4. And yet another update - I've just been on to TalkTalk & they're sending me new cables that should hopefully solve the problem & I'll be whine free!๐Ÿคž
  5. Update - Still got the whine - I've been taking to a techie mate & he reckons it sounds like a problem with the line rather than the router, so I need to get onto TalkTalk again....
  6. I'm with TalkTalk - they said I needed a new router - sent me one but still got the whine......
  7. Thanks for that Mike - I'll have a look๐Ÿ‘
  8. Are there any techies out there who could offer any advice? I recently moved to a new address (not far - same postcode as before). My router was absolutely fine in my old place, but now in my new one it's developed an ear-piercing whine. No new additions to my set-up - all same as my old address. I asked the engineer who came to set up my Broadband connection to check I'd set everything up ok before I even dared switch it on - he said it was all fine & good to go. Everything worked fine for a few days, but now it's whining at me. I've been onto my Broadband provider - they said I needed a new router. it arrived today - I've plugged it in & guess what? Still got the whine..... All offers of advice will be very much appreciated - I just want rid of the whine!๐Ÿ˜ข
  9. Haven't started watching the second series yet, but series one was really good. Looking forward to catching up with series two - if it's as good as the first it'll be a massive ๐Ÿ‘from me!

Morning all - Kath here with a bit of feedback from last night at The Harold. IT WAS BLOODY FAB!!!๐Ÿ‘ By the time we officially opened the doors at 8pm, we already had 40+ people in the room, so we were clearly in for another busy night. Thanks & well done to DJs Steve Yendley, plus guest DJs Mick Glover & Dean Webb - you all played storming spots & the feedback I heard from around the room was all really good. Thanks too to the hardworking bar staff - as usual we kept you busy, but you always managed to serve everyone with a big smile - well done girls!๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ Last but by no means least - a massive thanks to all who turned out to support us! We couldn't do it without you - hope you can make it to join us at The Harold on Friday 19th Sept, when Shaun Callon (Blackburn Oldies & Hazel Grove) will be taking to the Soul Brew decks to spin some of those cracking tunes from the 1960s.๐Ÿ˜‰
  10. Looking forward to another good night at The Harold - & yes we will have the air con switched on!๐Ÿชญ
  11. Thanks for the interesting read - some really nice & interesting artwork there!๐Ÿ‘
  12. Can't wait to hear what surprises Mick, Dean & Steve have in store for us - looking forward to another storming night at The Harold! ๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽต๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿ•บ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿ•บ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐ŸŽต๐ŸŽถ
  13. I watched Children of Men last night - it's worth a look if you haven't already seen it - with Clive Owen taking the lead role it had to be worth watching - never seen him in a bad film yet! It's available on BBCiplayer.
  14. I watched Unforgivable last night - written by Jimmy McGovern, it's a very well-acted drama with an excellent cast. Dealing sensitively & empathetically with ongoing problems caused by sexual abuse within the family, it makes for a disturbing but compelling watch. Hats off & well done to both Jimmy McGovern & The Beeb for handling such a difficult subject so well. Available on BBCIplayer, it's hard to watch but definitely recommended.๐Ÿ‘
  15. I binged watched it too - such a brutal story.. I remember someone from when I was a child in the 1950s - he'd been a Japanese PoW. I don't think he ever spoke about it all, but he never looked well - always seemed very sad, pitifully thin & permanently jaundiced. I was too young to have been told much about it - only that "he'd been a PoW & had a terrible time during the war...." I've seen other dramas & documentaries about the Burma railway - a brutal story but one that needs to be told.
  16. Is anyone else watching The Narrow Road to The Deep North? It's really well-acted - harrowing but compulsive viewing & at times very difficult to watch. Based on real-life events for POWs of the Japanese during WW2, it's well worth watching & available on BBCIplayer. I'm up to episode 2 so far & gripped by it - another ๐Ÿ‘for the Beeb from me.
  17. You were right Two Shoes - Mix Tape is good!๐Ÿ‘

Hi all - Kath here with a bit of feedback on last night's Haroldโ˜บ๏ธ By the time the doors officially opened at 8pm we already had 30+ people in & the footfall just kept on coming, so the atmosphere was buzzing from the get-go! Guest DJs Shaun Callon & Mopsey - plus Soul Brew's Steve & Marc - played a broad selection of 1960s Soul, R&B, Ska, Reggae & Mod tunes - something to please everyone. Well done guys - you nailed it!๐Ÿ‘ (Shaun stepped in to help us out last night as Marc was due to have an operation a couple of days ago. We expected him to be out of action for a while, but his op was postponed until a later date so he was able to join us after all).๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks to all who came to support us last night - as always you are very much appreciated!๐Ÿ‘Everyone seemed to have a good night & we had plenty of good feedback from around the room - it's always good to hear we got it right! Now we're looking forward to the next Harold soul night on Friday 15th August, when Mick Glover (Junction 36 & now East Dene Soul Club) will be joining us to spin the vinyl on the Soul Brew Decks.๐Ÿ™‚
  18. Well folks - tonight's the night & it's all sounding like we're in for another busy one - can't wait to see what Mopsey & Shaun have in store for us! Bring it on guys! ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿ•บ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿ•บ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿ•บ
  19. Thanks for the compliment Rob - it's always good to see nice feedback! See you tomorrow night
  20. Thanks - I'll have a look for that one!๐Ÿ‘
