  1. Hi all - Kath here. First of all I want to say a huge THANK YOU to all who came to join Soul Brew at The Low Moor last night. Hats off to the DJs - you all played storming sets that kept the dance floor busy all night. Well done guys - you nailed it again! It was also really good to see some of the regulars from previous soul nights at The Low Moor - old friends & new are always very welcome. From September onwards, our regular events at The Low Moor will be on the last Saturday of every month (subject to the club being available - if the room's booked for a wedding etc then we might find that we need to be a bit flexible!) Our next event at The Low Moor is on Saturday 24th September. Once again - thanks for coming - thanks for dancing - let's do it all again next month! Luv from Kath xx
  2. Tonight's the night - bring your dancing shoes! There'll be some aching legs tomorrow......
  3. Nice one Easty! When Paul Mitchell set up the soul nights at The Low Moor around 10 years ago, The Drifter was always his favourite tune to end the night. Even though Paul is no longer living in the area & can't make it to the soul nights now, I know he will be pleased to know that his old favourite is still being played there - you would get a massive thumbs up from Paul
  4. There are so many events on between Christmas & New Year, so we thought we'd have our do a little bit earlier on the 17th. Room's booked - more info to follow so watch this space folks! JEFF ROBINSON (BRADFORD'S SOUL ON SUNDAY) IS NOW CONFIRMED AS OUR GUEST DJ FOR DECEMBER SADLY IT LOOKS AS THOUGH LOW MOOR CLUB WILL BE CLOSING IT'S DOORS FOR GOOD SHORTLY AFTER CHRISTMAS AS THE SALE OF THE CLUB WILL BE COMPLETED BY THEN, SO THIS WILL MORE THAN LIKELY BE SOUL BREW'S VERY LAST EVENT AT THE CLUB. LET'S MAKE IT A NIGHT TO REMEMBER!
  5. We would normally have booked the last Saturday of the month but the room's already spoken for, so we went for the last Friday instead! Our soul nights at The Low Moor have got it all - plenty of parking space - friendly, welcoming atmosphere - request-friendly DJs playing storming tunes - large dance floor & a cheap bar. We're also very easy to find - on the main road & about 2.7 miles from Chain Bar Roundabout. Please note - the club management have asked that we keep the use of talc down to a minimum as it makes life difficult for the cleaning staff & we also have a few regulars who suffer from asthma. Please would everyone just use the limited amount that we have put down & not add any more? This compromise seems to work ok for everybody. Thanks in advance. JUST BEEN CONFIRMED - OUR GUEST DJ FOR NOVEMBER IS STUART ARBER (CRIGG SOUL CLUB)
  6. Cheap bar prices - storming tunes - fab friendly atmosphere too - Low Moor Club's got the lot!
  7. Just been onto Low Moor Club to ask for a few examples of the bar prices so here goes:- Coors - 3.00 Carlsberg - 3.00 Madri - 3.20 Worthington - 2.65
  8. Soul Brew @ The Low Moor, 161, Huddersfield Rd, Low Moor, Bradford BD12 0TQ
  9. After Soul Brew's first event at The Low Moor, I'm really looking forward to this! The music & atmosphere last month were spot-on & the feedback that we had on the night was great. Soul Brew DJ Marc Silverside is unable to join us for this event, so Steve, Stuart & Carl will be spinning the vinyl to keep the dance floor busy. Bring it on guys!!
  10. This month Soul Brew have managed to book the date we wanted - from now on our regular soul nights at The Low Moor will be held on the last Saturday of every month (subject to the room being available - there might just occasionally be the odd date when we need to be a bit flexible!) HALIFAX SOUL CLUB's very own MARK I'ANSON will be joining our regular Soul Brew DJs Marc Silverside - plus father & son team Stuart & Carl Eastwood - to spin a fab mix of Northern stompers, Motown dancers & up-tempo R&B - plus a few nice rarer surprises too - to keep the dance floor busy. Best bring your dancing shoes! Our soul nights at The Low Moor have got it all - plenty of parking space - friendly, welcoming atmosphere - storming tunes - large dance floor & a cheap bar.
  11. Soul Brew's initial event at The Low Moor in July (that we had originally intended to be a one-off!) turned out to be a huge success - we had people asking us to put on more soul nights there, so we are only too happy to oblige! Soul Brew DJs Steve Yendley - plus father & son Stuart & Carl Eastwood - will be manning the decks this month to play us a range of stompers to keep the dance floor busy all night. The Low Moor Club is around 2.7 miles from the Chain Bar Roundabout & on the main road, so very easy to find; it has plenty of parking space; fab, friendly atmosphere; large dance floor & a reasonably-priced bar. The last weekend in August is going to be a very busy one on the local soul scene, so to avoid clashing with other events we have booked the 3rd Friday of the month. Our subsequent events at The Low Moor will hopefully be held on the last Saturday of every month, subject to the club being available - watch this space!. Here's just one of the nice bits of feedback re last month's event:- From "Coconut" "I went to Soul Brew at the Low Moor Club last night. It was a fantastic night. The DJs were all great, played lots of stompers!! The atmosphere was really friendly and I'm so pleased that they have planned some more events there. Long live Soul at the Low Moor" THANK YOU COCONUT!!! It's always nice to be paid a compliment! If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact us - you can also look us up on our facebook page.
  12. Hi all Kath here I just want to say a massive thank you to all who attended Soul Brew's event last night at The Low Moor - your support is as always very much appreciated! The atmosphere was great & all the DJs - Stephen Yendley: Stuart Eastwood; Marc Silverside & Carl Eastwood, plus guest DJ Tom Wheelhouse - played storming tunes that kept the floor busy all night. The feedback I've heard so far - both last night & again today - has all been very positive. I just KNEW that there would be some of the regular soul night attendees from way-back-when asking for Soul Brew to put on more soul nights at The Low Moor! We are only too happy to oblige, so we have spoken to the club steward & booked Friday 19th August for our next event & then again on Saturday 24th September. It's still early days, so there will be more info to follow in due course. Once again - thanks for coming - thanks for dancing & hope to see you all again next month! Kath xx Share
  13. Tonight's the night folks - can't wait! Thanks for the requests - DJs have got them all sorted & in the record boxes ready to play
  14. Thanks Paul - that means a lot! Hope you're keeping well & we can all meet up again soon. xx
  15. Couple of good tunes there Marc! Can't wait to see what else you have in store for us..........
  16. Great to see a soul night on again at The Low Moor - it'll feel like I've come home!
  17. We've had lots of interest so far Catseyes - it's looking as though we could be in for a busy night!
  18. It's not a new thing - I had my purse stole from my bag at The Twisted Wheel way back in about 1966! I had no cash left at all. so my mates all clubbed together to give me enough cash for the rest of the weekend & to catch the bus back to Bradford on the Sunday. Sadly it seems to be happening more & more often now though
  19. As some of you may know from our Facebook page Soul Brew have had no option but to cancel our event at The Lightcliffe on 30th July & look for another venue, as the club has unfortunately double-booked - they also have a wedding party booked in for the same date. We've had a good look around - it was a bit of a struggle to find somewhere fairly close by so that our regulars wouldn't have too far to travel! It also had to be suitable, available for that weekend (We needed to stick to the last weekend of the month so as not to clash with other local events!) & also not too pricey for us to hire - but The Low Moor (161 Huddersfield Road, BD12 0TQ) has come up trumps & made us feel very welcome. The club steward is really pleased to have a soul night on again at the club, even if it's only for a one-off event! It will still be the same Soul Brew DJs (Steve Yendley - Marc Silverside - Carl Eastwood & Stuart Eastwood) Still the same music policy & same great, friendly atmosphere too - just a different venue. The bar's cheap too! Please note - the club management has asked us to keep the talc put down to a minimum, as it makes a mess for the cleaners & it also causes breathing problems for those who have asthma. Please would everyone only use the limited amount that we have provided - fingers crossed this is a compromise that will suit everyone! Thanks OUR GUEST DJ FOR JULY HAS JUST BEEN CONFIRMED! Tom Wheelhouse (from Barnsley) will be joining us on the night to spin a few tunes for us. It'll be great to see you again Tom!
  20. Thanks to all those who chose to join us at Lightcliffe last night - despite numbers being a tad on the low side due to so many clashing events, we all had a great night Thanks too & well done to DJs Marc Silverside; Steve Yendley; Stuart Eastwood; & Carl Eastwood, plus special guest DJ Mike Eastwood - the music was spot on - you nailed it again guys! Now we are looking forward to our next event on Saturday 30th July, when Barnsley lad Tom Wheelhouse will be joining us to spin a few tunes on the Lightcliffe decks. Bring it on!
  21. Plenty of weekenders on this weekend & if you're going to one here's hoping you have a great time, but if you've decided to stay local to Yorkshire you're more than welcome to come & join us at The Lightcliffe - we are always happy to see new faces! All our DJs are spinning the tunes simply for the love of music - not out to make money & no egos to boost - just the pleasure of seeing a floor full of happy dancers! Hope to see you on the dance floor.
  22. Well said Frankie - my thoughts exactly! Cat's been out of the bag for too long now though - sadly it'll never be an underground scene again. Northern's like the new line dancing now.
