  1. Hi all - Kath here with a bit of feedback from last night - BOOOOOM!! People started to trickle in before we'd even opened up & it wasn't very long before we had a good turnout. Soul Brew DJs Marc Silverside & Stuart Eastwood - plus guest DJ Steve Sowerbutts - played a selection of storming tunes that kept the dance floor very busy - well done guys! The atmosphere was great - we had some brilliant feedback from around the room & everyone said what a great night they'd had. Well done too to the bar staff - the room-full of thirsty dancers kept them very busy all night! Last but by no means least, a huge thanks to all who chose to join Soul Brew at The Low Moor last night - your support is as always very much appreciated - we couldn't do it without you! Looking forward now to Friday the 25th November, when our guest DJ for the night will be Stuart Arber (Crigg Soul Club) - hope you will all be able to join us & we can do it all again!
  2. Looks as though Marc's been a busy lad picking out his tunes for tonight - let's make it a cracker while we still have the club - it's not going to last much longer! Another 2 events at the most... we think.....
  3. Here are the DJ times for Saturday night :- 8pm - 9pm - Stuart Eastwood 9pm - 10pm - Marc Silverside 10pm - 11pm Steve Sowerbutts 11pm - 12.15 Stuart & Marc double-decking BRING YOUR DANCING SHOES!!!
  4. Now for some sad news! We at Soul Brew have known since we set up our soul nights at The Low Moor that the club was up for sale, so we were all very much aware that our events there would probably only be for a limited amount of time. Now there is a big, red SOLD sign above the door & as yet we have no idea of the fate of the club once the sale goes through. So many of us - including me - have lots of very happy memories of the storming soul nights at The Low Moor, dating right back to when Paul Mitchell originally set up his beloved Black Cat Soul Nights at the club all those years ago. Soul Brew have a couple more events booked at The Low Moor - Friday 25th November & then our Christmas bash on Saturday 17th December - but after that - who knows? Let's all make the most of the club (and that oh-so-cheap bar!!) while we still can & enjoy some nights to remember!

  6. Two good tunes there Marc! Looking forward to seeing what other goodies you have in store for us!
  7. Well done for speaking out Peter - hope you're feeling better soon. Keep your chin up - the only way is up from now on! xx
  8. People often ask about the bar prices at The Low Moor - I don't have an exact price list, but as a rough guide our first round of drinks at last month's event consisted of 3 pints of assorted beers, 1 dry white wine with soda & a soft drink (can't remember exactly what) The total cost for all 5 drinks came to the grand sum of 12.50 - not bad at all!! Hats off to The Low Moor for managing to keep their prices so competitive - in so many other venues the drinks prices seem to be going up in leaps & bounds!
  9. Hi all - Kath here. First of all I want to say a huge thank you to all who came to support Soul Brew at The Low Moor last night! Thanks too to Marc Silverside, Carl & Stuart Eastwood, plus guest DJ Mark I'Anson - you all played some storming tunes. We had a fab mix of Northern, R&B & rarer tunes, plus a few that I've not heard played out much at all since my misspent teenage years at various all-nighters! Well done guys - you nailed it! Well done too to The Low Moor for keeping the bar prices so amazingly low! I was fully expecting them to have risen considerably by now, but no - still an extremely cheap bar compared to other venues. Big up to The Low Moor! Please don't forget that Soul Brew have had to bring our next event forward by a week to Saturday the 22nd October, as both Marc & Carl will be in the States Djing at Detroit-a-Go-Go. Once again - thanks for supporting us & thanks for dancing - hope to see you all again next month!
  10. It'll be great to see you Coconut! I know Carl's got Burnt Toast by Mike Pedicin - it's one of my favourites. I'll tell him to play it for you xx

  12. Thanks for the compliment Coconut! Hope you can make it to join us on the night xx
  13. I saw Inez & Charlie at The Wheel in the late 1960s - absolutely brilliant! They blew the roof off - I was there just about every weekend in the latter half of the 60s & they were easily one of the best bands I saw there. RIP Inez xx
  14. Another night of amazing soul music with the Soul Incorporated DJs & guests, playing the very best of the best tunes all on vinyl! 2 rooms with top quality dance floors
  15. Soul Brew had planned to put an event on at The Low Moor on the last Saturday of every month, but as Marc Silverside & Carl Eastwood - 2 of our regular DJs - will be away DJing in Detroit at the end of October, we've decided to bring it forward a week rather than cancel for this month. Soul on Sunday's Steve Sowerbutts will be joining us on the night to spin a few tunes too - bring it on guys it'll be a storming night!! The Low Moor is very easy to find - on the main road & about 2.5 miles from Chain Bar roundabout. We have a large dance area - cracking mix of tunes - request-friendly DJs & a competitively-priced bar. Old friends & new are always welcome! Couldn't ask for more could we? . Payment by card is accepted at the bar, but the 5.00 door tax is cash-only please. Please note - the club management have asked that we keep the use of talc down to a minimum as it makes life difficult for the cleaning staff & we also have a few regulars who have problems with asthma - they really suffer when there's a lot of talc in the air! Please would everyone just use the limited amount that we have put down & not add any more? This compromise seems to work ok for everybody. Thanks in advance.
  16. People often ask us about bar prices, so here are a few examples:- Coors - 3.00 Carlsberg - 3.00 Madri - 3.20 Worthington - 2.65 These prices were all correct at the time of posting - but like everything else at the mo - things can vary subject to inflation!
