    Hi all

I'm Ricky, I have always been into vintage music , Including RnB, Mowtown, Rockin blues, Early Soul. Northern Soul,  My mum brought me up on that, Sadly went the Rockin blues  route but now getting a taste back for Northern Soul once again, After finding a fab location recently on my YouTube channel explores This has got me excited..Ritz Ballroom Brighouse,  Wow what an atmosphere here , Even though the dancing gas stopped, The History in the walls survives.

Pleased to be a member of this Great Group. Thank you. KTF.

Welcome to Soul Source Ricky - enjoy!👋

  2. One of my friends back in the 1960s used to sing along - voice at full volume - to The Beatles Day Tripper. She was convinced the lyrics were "She's a big Jesus.." & not "She's a big teaser..." So embarrassed when she found out the correct words when she was young but laughs about it now.🤣🤣

  3. I normally see plenty of swallows, swifts & house martins every year swooping over the fields where I walk my dog - some just passing through heading north on migration & others decide to spend the summer here. This year we've had a few swallows passing through - none seem to have stayed & not seen any swifts or house martins at all....😢

  4. Have to be honest - I've never been a great fan of footie - but good luck guys - you've got this! I won't be absolutely glued to the match tonight, but I'll probably be doing a bit of channel-hopping to see how it's all going........🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

I don’t know any A list dj using a laptop at venues, maybe at some divvy club?  Mp3s have never been welcomed whilst I have been going, it has always been about the bit of plastic, even if that is a boot or carver.

    👍👍👍👍👍

  6. Series 2 of Blue Lights is every bit as good as the first series!👍

Also watching The Gone, on BBC iplayer. Based in New Zealand - it's good & well worth watching even if only for the scenery - it looks stunning!

Went to the Blue Orchid near Derby in Les Cokell's van. Les insisted we all took our 'keep awake additives' before we got there. It was bloody closed. Spent the night in a motorway service station being stared at by the motorway police. Enough to give you the horrors😁.

    Still, they were happy days.

I wouldn't have found it funny at the time but I can't help laughing now!

    🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Hi , thanks for accepting me.

I started my soul travels at the Brazenose St , Twisted Wheel around 1964, then Whitworth St. but had many great time at the Plebs and Cellar 44 in Halifax and a few different soul venues including Burnley and Blackpool Meccas. anyone remember these spots from the 60s?
    Be good to hear.

My first all-nighter was at The Golden Disc in Keighley (aged 15 - my parents would have killed me if they'd known!) Also tried Blackpool Mecca, The Birdtrap, Lord Jim's, Plebs (Halifax) & String o' Beads (Bradford) but mostly it was The Wheel (Whitworth St) for me & then either The Blue Note or Top 20 on a Sunday morning - I was there pretty much every weekend without fail from 1966-1970. Fab times & I'd love to turn back the clock & do it all again!
