  1. Sooty, little tip, get a gold DVD pressed, put it in your garage for 30 years, then sell it in a blind auction.
  2. Ordered mine on Monday, and received an e-mail from their support team after I enquired about the problems. I remain optimistic, as they are aware of the problem and are hopefully going to sort it.
  3. Can't be worse than my copy....
  4. Don't forget Brian.
  5. Frank Incense?
  6. Idris Muhammed - Could Heaven Ever Be Like This......Sublime. https://youtu.be/a96OgR6hjDY
  7. I think it's a lottery wherever you get them from. Maybe best going with a supplier who will be best placed to offer a replacement should you draw a dud. Universal will obviously have first dibs, followed by Amazon, with the small independents lower down the pecking order.
  8. I won't be sharing my Revels.
  9. Always liked the Isleys from the first time I heard it. Had only heard Smokey's uptempo version previously, which I also like.
  10. Just received the following e-mail from Universal's Support Team.... Hello, Steve. Thank you for your email regarding your order for 'The Motown 7's Box - Rare and Unreleased' (3394908). Unfortunately, the above item has been delayed due to a manufacturing issue that customers from other online retailers have experienced where by one of the vinyl's was duplicate and another missing. So that the supplier can work to resolve this issue before our orders are dispatched, we have been given a preliminary stock take date of the 9th December, 2013 and as soon as we take stock of the item, it will be dispatched to you immediately and you will receive email confirmation. Steve, please allow me to apologise for any inconvenience this will cause and if you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us. Thank you. William Westerside. Universal Music Direct Support Team
  11. They seem to favour Facebook to the detriment of the official film site for some reason. Maybe because of all the feedback they get on Facebook?
  12. Might even treat myself to a family bag of Revels.
  13. No problem, I've used the UK site and had a few CDs off them recently, and am awaiting delivery of the Raphael Saadiq vinyl boxset. Not the quickest delivery, but if you're saving $55 compared with Amazon?
  14. $85 on this website......worth cancelling the Amazon order? https://www.wowhd.ca/home/various-motown-7s-box-rare-unused/dp/35684579#bc=3166
  15. If you have ripped the CDs to iTunes, then you can take the track listings from iTunes and copy into Excel. Here's a handy tutorial.... https://cnettv.cnet.com/export-song-lists-from-itunes/9742-1_53-50072800.html If you haven't got iTunes, I've ripped Vols 1 to 12A and I could put the info onto a spreadsheet for you.
  16. Still awaiting despatch information from Universal, but on a brighter note, WOW HD have just informed me they have despatched the Raphael Saadiq vinyl boxset I ordered on Monday. Hopefully that'll be £30 well spent. Here's the link, if anybody is interested.... https://www.wowhd.co.uk/home/raphael-saadiq-way-i-see-it-7-inch-vinyl-boxset/dp/4719343#bc=2f17 Incidentally, they stock the Motown 7s boxset, but it's £60, although they regularly have 15% off promotions (last one was Monday, although there's a different 12 Days of Christmas promotion each day)...... https://www.wowhd.co.uk/home/various-motown-7s-box-rare-unused/dp/35684579#bc=021b
  17. Thanks for the update, Steve. I'm expecting a similar response as I have e-mailed their support team. Universal, the record label that stole Christmas.
  18. "Right, which one of you f*ckers is responsible for packing the Marvin Gaye single?"
  19. I was 17 when I started going, and I'd meet my mate off the train as he'd be travelling down from the north. I think we used to have a couple of hours to kill, so we'd catch last orders in the Bees Knees, before getting chased up Station Road. Can always remember being towards the front of the queue.
  20. Didn't have much in my pockets in those days. Because I stopped off at Wigan on my way home from Portsmouth, I'd leave my weekend bag and most of my valuables in the left luggage at the station (this is after the local plod had searched through my dirty washing) and only had enough funds for a pint in the Bees Knees, admission in and a bottle of pop.
  21. Luckily my mate and me could run pretty fast in those days, and by the time we got to the Casino, there was more than a few outside to even up the numbers.
  22. I attended Wigan between 78 and 81, and didn't do gear. This was not only to do with me being in the Armed Forces at the time, and being made acutely aware of the consequences should I be caught, but also the fact that I just wasn't interested in drugs. Knew plenty of people who took them, and was offered them more times than I can remember, but I was young and fit at the time, so had no problem with an allnighter, although I was ready for my bed by the time I got home. Loved the Casino, the only real trouble I had was a few scuffles with the locals on the way up Station Road. Looking back, it was a dump, but it was "our" dump, and it was the music and atmosphere that kept me going back for more.
  23. The album version of TWBANTR is 5 minutes long, as opposed to under 3 minutes for the 7". Only slightly shorter than the 12" version. The album's a better buy.
  24. You'll get to watch reel one twice, and have to go to a different cinema to catch reel two.
  25. Dear Mr Stoned, I believe we may have sent you an additional copy of the Motown 7s Boxset by mistake. We would appreciate it if you could hand the extra copy to the courier who will be calling within the next two days. Sorry for any inconvenience. Please accept a free MP3 download to the value of £1. Regards, Amazon.
