  1. Cheers Sooty, short and sweet. My prediction for next December is looking dodgy......
  2. Winnie, any chance of a precis of the above?
  3. I'll be able to carry on listening to JazzFM in the man cave via the internet but it looks like Radio 2 in the car now.
  4. Vital that the DJ gets his pronunciation right with that one. Is that the same Paramounts who sang Poison Ivy?
  5. I beg to differ, sir. This is an English website, not South African. Pronunciation: /kak/ British informal noun [mass noun] excrement; dung: cow cack rubbish:they talk such a load of cack verb [with object] defecate in (one’s clothes). Origin: Old English (as cac- in cachÅ«s 'privy'); the verb dates from late Middle English and is related to Middle Dutch cacken; based on Latin cacare 'defecate'
  6. I was intrigued to see the title "Hot Sausage" by The Mysterions listed on an album of unreleased Motown from 1962. Luckily it turned out to be an instrumental.
  7. When I saw the thread title I was looking forward to read about a new discovery........ ........."Baby do the Pants Down".
  8. Underground Express - Never Found A Girl https://youtu.be/MRTitjojRPY
  9. Flaming Emeralds is a proper Northern stomper, Brainstorm is a catchy disco number that successfully crossed over. I'd take either of those any day above the Sidney Barnes track, but that's just my opinion. Enjoy the Smoke, Sooty.
  10. They certainly do. I've got a Cambridge amp and CD I bought about 12 years ago. The new Cambridge stuff is highly rated. British made to boot.
  11. PPS I agree with Steve G, "Solid Ground" is cack.
  12. PS Happy Birthday Sooty.
  13. Don't know if you've sorted yourself out yet David, but I've taken delivery of the Denon deck, mini hi-fi and Q Acoustic speakers and set them up for my son. Absolutely superb sound for the money, great features on the Denon kit, my lad's really chuffed, as am I. Thoroughly recommended, I just need him to let me archive some of my vinyl now.
  14. Universal have sorted me out with regards to the missing Marvin Gaye single, although I did give them a heads up about the problem before they despatched my box set, and they said they would check their stock before sending any more out, which they obviously didn't. RS also contacted Universal and pointed them to this thread. It's the people who have bought from other retailers who may have problems, but if anybody with a missing MG single informs their retailer that Universal are supplying this, then they should be able to contact Universal on their customers behalf. https://www.richardsearling.co.uk/my-motown-sevens-box-set-released-monday-november-18th-2013/
  15. Is this the one? https://www.amazon.com/Motown-Unreleased-1963-Various-artists/dp/B00H7IF0WG/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1387134083&sr=8-2&keywords=unreleased+motown
  16. Not what I'd describe as an uplifting soul record.
  17. Unfortunately Your Autumn of Tomorrow by The Crow didn't put enough people off playing it.
  18. Although the song title is innocuous enough, you wouldn't expect much from a group called John and the Weirdest.
  19. Duets with Di Perful.
  20. Just received the missing Marvin single from Universal so my boxset is now complete with a spare Barbara McNair. Hurrah.
  21. Followed by..... https://youtu.be/UROWjAYuug8
  22. Or the same NUM meetings. The plot thickens.
  23. Arthur and Russ must share the same hairdresser.
  24. The list..... https://youtu.be/SczxwCSt1F8
  25. Complete Motown Singles Volume 12B has plummeted in price to £26 on Amazon. I think it was originally up for £60. Release date 6th Jan, so a late Christmas present. https://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Complete-Motown-Singles-Vol/dp/B00F4386VS/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1386930446&sr=8-2&keywords=motown
