  1. Sad news. Didn't know Fran personally, but sure I've shared a dance floor with her on occasions. RIP Fran.
  2. Here's a start..... Try typing "cleaning" into the forum search box for more topics.
  3. Luckily I'm protected from the Edwin Starr virus. I have faith in AVG.
  4. "Has It Happened To You Yet?" - Edwin Starr
  5. Luckily I didn't get infected by the Edwin Starr virus. Has it happened to you yet?
  6. I clicked on the link and my laptop is now infected with the Dobie Gray virus. The images on my screen keep drifting away.
  7. What, not even to hear Out On The Floor? It must be worth the risk, surely?
  8. Stick By Me Baby has now crossed over to the Morris scene.
  9. I was a Blue Stratos boy myself.
  10. Four Toppings on your pizza? https://youtu.be/5NWpmTEFLAg Surprised they haven't approached Pharrell Williams yet.

  12. You can't beat the old chop-segue technique.
  13. The only extended cuts I'm interested in is those laid down by the original artists at the time, although I am partial to an extended cut of sirloin.
  14. Correct listing...... https://www.allmusic.com/album/vee-jay-records-chicago-hit-factory-mw0000774473
  15. After reading the letter of complaint from MrC's mate to Ryan Air, they should have used "I Ain't Going Nowhere" on the TV advert.
  16. A DJ I had the misfortune to witness on Saturday night must have cleared out rentacrowd, dial-a-div and hireahandbagger.
  17. Very sad news. Rest in Peace, Alfie.
  18. My sentiments exactly. I think a little bit of wee came out when I read your witty riposte.
  19. There's probably some Morris dancers thinking the same thing.....a dance off with some Billy Backdrops, I've never seen anything like it in my fifty odd years of Morrising!
  20. Can remember going to the All Dayers at Blackpool Mecca and all those shenanigans used to go on in the main room.
  21. Destination anywhere.....luggage somewhere else.
  22. Don't know, but there's a special offer on Williams and Watson....two for the price of one.
  23. A better idea would be to hire your own suitably attired northern soul dance troupe, who would dance to every record you played, clap enthusiastically after each record, and give you a massive round of applause at the end of your set. For added effect, they could also engage in some back slapping. Individuals from the troupe could take it in turns to rush up to the decks on a regular basis to enquire about the record being played.
  24. When I said Lauren is one of these, I meant she is one of my mate's lad's acting school colleagues, or that's what I was told, unless there is another girl call Lauren with a similar hairstyle. I have seen Lauren myself out and about, the first time being when I went to KGH to witness some of the filming. Regardless of whether she was attending events prior to her involvement with the film (including the dance clubs which I believe started two years prior to filming), if she has acting aspirations, then appearing in a film and numerous TV shows isn't going to damage her prospects. If I have got the wrong girl then I apologise, but as my mate's lad isn't on the scene, he wouldn't know her from attending venues, hence the acting school connection. PS Been reliably informed that the "acting school" was the National Youth Theatre.
  25. I suspect there'll be more prospective borrowers than people actually willing to hire out their records. I can see some major disputes concerning the return of damaged records, or even the non return of records for whatever reason. It's one thing hiring a car, they're repairable / replaceable, but the same can't be said for vinyl. The rarer stuff wouldn't even be offered for hire, in my opinion, which defeats the whole object.
