    I remember my early days on the force, and having to sort out a group of youths who were dicking around on the dance floor. One young lad seemed embarrassed by the antics of his mates, so I had a quiet word in his ear and put him at his ease. I often wonder what happened to that youngster. I guess I'll never know.

    They should, but I've arrived at venues early doors where they're still messing about with all the sound settings. That may be because the first DJ doesn't like how it's been set up. I've witnessed DJs still tweaking with the sound well into the night. Age probably has a lot to do with it.

    The first three records of the first spot are for fine tuning the sound, although the acoustics may change as the venue fills.

    Here's a foolproof way of getting to hear your favourite sounds out and about. Publish a book about them and give it a snappy title like "The Northern Soul Top 150" et voila!

    Not what you'd call a cottage industry. A lot of small companies would be happy with that sort of turnover. I'm just amazed at the amount of idiots out there buying this crap.

    ...and hopefully this will act as a deterrent to others. The Proceeds of Crime Hearing next year should also deprive them of their ill gotten gains. They have wide reaching powers and can seize assets if the money is gone.
