My youngest son is the photographer in our house. If you like landscapes, especially the Lake District, then he's taken some crackers....

As advertisements go, it keeps you guessing about what is actually being advertised until the end captions. Even in the extended 2 minute version, there is no mention of any high fibre breakfast cereal. Expect future events to be invaded by advertising executives. I reckon Johnson & Johnson would be interested in the alternative use of one of their products. Failing that, it's about time a new Shake n Vac advert hit our screens.
Got a pair of shoes from the Chinese cobbler on HMS Bulwark in 1980. I gave him a picture I'd cut out of a catalogue and picked the leather I wanted from what he had on board. I then stood barefoot on a piece of paper whilst he drew round my feet and took a few measurements. A week later, a pair of handmade tassel loafers for the princely sum of £20.
Trouble is, half an hour later I wanted another pair.
Just an observation Rob, but I couldn't help but notice a spider in your kitchen when I viewed your photograph full screen. There he is, in the corner of your work top, above the toaster at the top of the picture. Wouldn't be Spider Turner by any chance?
Paid about the same for a pair from Hepworth's back in '75. 30" parallels, side seam pockets, tunnel loops, two pleats each side, buttoned down flap pockets on the back, one front cash pocket with flap, plain bottoms.
Some photos I took on my phone, after seeing my son and his Grandad off in the balloon. The castle is Brougham Castle, a couple of miles outside of Penrith and visible from the A66.
