  1. Just heard that Larry Braggs of the Temptations was knocked unconscious when he fell from the stage of the MEN Arena last night. Hope he's OK. https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/temptations-larry-braggs-manchester-arena-12066538
  2. Managed to get mine at the original pre-order price of £24.99. Noticed a couple up for sale on here at £47.50. Bit naughty buying them just to sell on, in my opinion.
  3. Received mine this afternoon, but have had to send an email to the support desk as the download code doesn't work. All seven singles present, just checking them on the turntable now.
  4. I'm Knocking At Your Heart - Darrell Banks
  5. Thought the original release date was tomorrow (21st). Checked my Amazon account and they've handed mine to Royal Mail so if I'm lucky I might get it in time for Christmas.
  6. What a legacy the Chess brothers have left the music world. RIP.

  9. It says he's transferred the land to the museum.
  10. In the late 70's, used to get four return rail tickets home per year, courtesy of HM Forces. Each ticket was valid for three months, and my record was eight round trips from Portsmouth to Penrith via London, stopping off at Wigan en route, all on the one ticket. After the Casino closed, I would always get my ticket clipped between Wigan and Penrith on the Friday night.
  11. Would expect to hear A Slice Of The Pie by Jewel Akens.
  12. What Does It Take - Junior Walker?
  13. Very good. Not what you'd call a soul crowd, probably a lot of literary types there, it being part of a book festival. Stuart was introduced by a presenter from BBC Radio Cumbria, who asked a few questions of his own. The author concentrated primarily on Young Soul Rebels, but did a preamble on Detroit 67, and its connection to the new book. Stuart read a few extracts from the book, gave a bit of background on himself, how he got into the scene, told a few anecdotes about his experiences as a soul fan, record collector, student and author. Don't want to go into any specifics in case Stuart has plans to hold further audiences, but I would imagine he's got countless tales to tell, and would tailor things to suit the audience, based around the Q & A session at the end. Found it entertaining and informative, and also quite emotional in parts. Thoroughly recommended, and looking forward to the new book, Memphis 68.
  14. Thanks for the heads up. Just ordered my ticket.
