In my personal experience, attending venues from the late '70s through to the late '90s, it seemed like you were surrounded by your peers, then suddenly a much older crowd appeared in the '00s, and the last few years has seen a much younger clientele coming onto the scene. This has led to as much as a 50 year age gap between the youngest and oldest attendees at some venues. It doesn't seem to be a problem, with everybody on board for the love of the music, so I reckon it's a case of carry on regardless, as long as you're still up to it.

So the wire brush and Dettol is best avoided?

I would argue that the term "bootleg" is more about the intended use of the copy, than the copy itself. If you made a vinyl copy of an acetate purely for your own use, in order to preserve the original acetate, I wouldn't call that a bootleg. If on the other hand you made a vinyl copy, or multiple copies for financial gain, then I would class that as bootlegging.

I don't envy you having to park your arse on that cold saddle. It was a balmy 4 degrees when I climbed into my car on Sunday morning after attending a local soul night.

Steve, I normally walk along the River Eamont between Eamont Bridge and Brougham. Might take my camera along next time so watch this space.

I regularly see at least one heron when I take the dog for a walk. Apparently there's five along the stretch of river we walk along. Plenty of times I've thought to myself, I wish I had a camera with me.
