Show us your great photos (2017)
I do know I'm a soft touch with her Steve. I looked after her shop on Monday and Tuesday while she went out gallivanting. That photo was taken for the Evening News and Star, the Carlisle local rag, and they cropped her two mates off and put Kathryn on the front page with the headline "Here Come The Girls".

Poll: DJ Playlist - Worthwhile?
It's great to look at playlists from all the various decades to see how things have evolved to cater for changing tastes, new discoveries etc. It also serves as a historic record of the scene, so long may playlists continue to be posted.

Biggest selling Northern Record - Gloria Jones - Tainted Love ??
Follow that up with Soft Cell's cover of What to really get the party started, just don't ask for the Marilyn Manson version of Tainted Love unless the bride is wearing black.

Cellar Full of ???
In a hurry the other day, I picked up a bag of four sausage rolls from Morrison's. Imagine my disappointment when I got home, only to discover they were spinach and ricotta rolls. Richard Searling has got a lot to answer for.

The top 500
By sentencing these songs to the Top 500, I condemn them to a life of over exposure, overplaying and overpricing. Take them down.

soul artists - games royalties ?
The games industry is worth more than the film and music industry combined, however I would imagine the royalties aren't great. Most of the music used in games is specially written, so the likes of Rockstar which licences popular music is the exception rather than the rule. With hundreds of songs used in the latest GTA, I reckon between $5k and $10k per song, depending on the artist. A lot of older artists will probably just be happy to be featured as it puts their music in front of a new, and massive audience.

The last thing we want is another Top 500.

Cellar Full of ???
But you normally get some chat in between records. This was like he played a "Now That's What I Call Northern" CD all the way through then he quickly listed the artists at the end. If he hasn't got time to record a proper show he shouldn't bother. Let somebody else fill his slot.

Just tuned into the first hour of Richard Searling's show on Solar Radio, only to be greeted by a Top 500 mix tape.

Comedy Sale Of The Day
The seller lists it as rare '60's. It would have been extremely rare in the sixties unless somebody travelled back in time from the seventies with a few copies.
