  4. Remember it well along with the venue next door where I went for my very first allnighter Rotherham School of Dancing!
  5. Looking at all the scans I am familiar with nearly all dj's at todays soul nights apart from Brian Rae. Does anyone know what happened to him? When you thought that you had danced til you could dance no more along would come Brian with some magical tunes so you would have to get up again
  6. We used to have a great friendship with the many folk that travelled down from Edinburgh, my memory is not as good as it was with names but I can remember a close friend called Karen Cockburn.
  7. Hi Guys, I'm a newy on here so please go easy with me Reading through the posts brings back so many great memories IMHO having been to most top venues back in the days Clifton Hall was the best place for cross the board music. You got the full range from all the top dj's at the time with people travelled from far and wide which gave the place an amazing buzz. I always considered myself an "oldies" fan but nowadays I'm much more into what was then "newys" such as pages, heartaches and pain, Otis clay the only way is up, Curtis how can I tell her etc. etc. etc. We too used to meet in the charters (can remember the trouble too) then stager into a packed Clifton Hall about 10.30, dance till 2.00 then wait for the whistles and uplifting dancing from the Preston Street Crew and then back for more dancing and watching the amazing Vernon from Bradford doing his spins.....those were the days!!!
