  1. I bought the exactly same looking one including run-out from very reputable name on the scene at Prestatyn several years ago, looks more Orange than the original post but could be down to scanner ?
  2. orrrrr, you could hunt down this beauty.....
  3. hi Damian, I've been running the Dundee club for nearly 15 years using Stanton Str 8, like your first pic, providing you set the carts like Triode picture then the stylus tracks perfectly, they even have indictor lines for the correct angle. alan
  4. like Miff, I've been to the Lorraine Motel, and the MLK memorial in Atlanta, also sat in the Rosa Parks bus seat, totally humbling experiences, and the most ironic thing is I have American relatives and work colleagues who are totally ignorant of their "wonderful country's" history of just 50 years ago ! I'll definitely be shouting about SELMA alan
  5. currently as a 57yr old, this on my WANTS list.....has been for years alan
  6. hi all- thanks for the info, especially the fact that the Ohio Originals are not the Detroit Motown ones. Listening to the Temps LP track and the Suspension 45, they are almost indistinguishable maybe apart from Ruffin's voice. so I think it's the Temps LP for me... saved a few bob.... cheers alan
  7. sorry - the Profonix is on Davey-Paul
  8. Can anyone shed some light on the song, Aint no sun ( since you've been gone) Profonix on Davey-John Originals on Suspension, I've seen the black and the gold label issues ? Profonix has credits to HDH, but the Suspension gives credits to Moy & Whitfield ? all of them prolific Motown writers I know the prices but wondered why credits are different, and black vs gold on Suspension ? cheers alan
  9. was there in 2005, took a taxi to Stax so no problems, also then went onto Lorraine Motel where MLK was shot via taxi, we found the staff friendly and called taxis for us alan
  10. Sad indeed, she will always have "Magic Corner" in my play box alan
  11. hi jason, I'm guessing you have this one, pretty cheap I would think
  12. Sat 18th Feb. Keith Money & Ray Parker
  13. hi all, I'd like to clarify a few points from the posts above, firstly Phyllis has just about summed it up, the Dundee soul scene is indeed divided between the oldies/charity nights and the Dundee Soul Club which I co-promote along with John Macdonald and Shug Robertson. This topic is about a photographer (?) called Dillon who burst onto the soul scene in Dundee about 2 minutes ago, he has focused on filming his recent videos at the oldies nights where he considers beer towels and back-flips are still mandatory and in vogue, and the scooterboy sketch may reveal where his real interest lies, because it certainly isn't in today's northern/rare soul scene. Last month we ran one of our Dundee nights, when he was previously handed a flyer he said he may come along to film but then asked, are we a "real soul night" so my message to Dillon as we approach our 11th anniversary is to ask Mick H. Eddie Hubbard, Keith Money etc. if we are real....... alan
  14. hi - we did DC & Philly last year (don't bother going to DC). I don't recall finding any record stores in Philly but we were only there for 3 days and my wife had me focused on the historical sites !!. I did go to the PIR studios, or what's left of them and they also have TSOP shop right next door. Mid-week the TSOP has some live acts in a really small venue also selling t-shirts, CD's etc. The address is 309 Broad Street which is really city central, close to the Academy of Music, the locals call it their "Broadway" and they even have the artists "stars" embedded into the pavement across the street from TSOP. I'm gonna try and attach a picture of the outside of the building but with some recent changes here on SS i've found it difficult to embed jpgs. if this doesn't work then pm me and I'll send you an email so you can see what to look for. cheers alan
  15. Mark - for guidance only, I paid £95 incl shipping from someone on here for Dee Dee Warwick about 9 months ago good luck alan

  17. the songs listed by "epic" are totally spot on, I think of these as some of my absolute favourite oldies but they do have that something different rythym to them, is it Funk ??? down to the ear of the beholder...... alan
  18. £5 off ebay 3 years ago, black Swan. But that's not much of a reference now-a-days, seen it from £15-£25 recently alan
