I think I counted around 50 events on the calendar for tomorrow night, how many of them are charging money to hear tunes played off a laptop or off boots? Soul nights for me regardless if they are oldies, upfront etc should be OVO otherwise you’re cheating the punter. The whole ethos of the soul scene was around original records whether they were rare or not. Luckily for me the places I go don’t do boots but I feel sorry for the punters that do
