  1. General Assembly gets plenty of plays on several scenes and saw an issue sold here for uk350 in July so hardly a forgotten oldie, let alone 30 years. Would still be a bizarre choice to boot but maybe that wasn't the one based on later comments.
  2. Prefer the red version with "What's wrong with you girl" as that's a vastly grittier track than the overly fey flip.
  3. That Contessa is really solid, nice find. As of now 3 of my little group of music friends here each have copies of the Traditions on Artco if that helps add up the # around.
  4. That Robert Dobyne is straight off a Cellarful of Soul unreleased Motown cd, needless to say have seen it pressed on a 45 in Belgium!
  5. Far prefer her Amber 45, one of many great cuts on that label (bonus points if you like garage too as has some monsters, Frank Ventura etc)
  6. Funnily my old copy will be back in the apt today as the buyer is visiting the States, there was one left unsold at Allentown a month ago, seller had seen the fake old auction result and got rather over-excited at his chances bless him.
  7. It's on our Dig Deeper JesterWild mix from a few years ago....
  8. Stevie is an early doors spin at Dig Deeper, sounds great out.
  9. Just sold an unplayed copy, only 2nd one have had...
  10. NW is my style not yours John, hyper uptempo and a great dancer. Just send Gene our love, that's plenty enough.
  11. Yes I have Night Walker John, to make a higher quality mp3 will need to give it to R to do for you, can leave it at his place this week k ps Night Walker was cut on the street where I live, address is now a deli and owners are newish so no history there, but literally steps from my front door, pretty crazy huh
  12. John, we've been in touch with him for a good while too as you may know already, drop a line directly as there may be some recordings you're not aware of to add, plus we both have clean copies of How it feels if you still need that.
  13. Dell Randle was in my sales boxes priced at $20 for the last few years with no takers, guess harder to pick up than realised. (and if you really want a Tic Tac Toe version for the dancefloor then the A Go-Go's on DB with the maxed out reverb is totally killer)
  14. Tried one here in NYC back in 2009, think was the first copy to slip thru ebay and everyone was asleep, usually love anything leftfield with an interesting sound so hats off to Mik for breaking it but found it really disappointing to play out, less balls than the LUFC frontline in an away game, so flipped it cheap to a good pal in Italy where it had a much better reception by all accounts.
  15. This topic comes up every couple of years - just look on the previous threads, all the other 45 versions are listed
  16. You sure don't need us to add there is no heavy collector in NY called Paul (or was his full name Paul My Leg?) but thinking you can buy a Junior McCants from Discogs involves swallowing a fairly insane amount of credibility, def bummed for all these buyers.
  17. So seeing as you have pretty much all us active heavy NYC soul collectors right here why not give the first initial of the seller's name, as Greg says we all know the score so what's with this Wizard of Oz attempt at mystery when the curtain is very easy to pull back?
  18. There's a couple of Lark 12" acetates around w this and some unreleased sides on
  19. It wasn't "fetching" anything, it was a total unknown, hence the spare picked up on ebay with no other bidders. You can PM on the Huey but popsike tells you the average in the last year or so which would go off of, k.
  20. Waiting list of 6 people since listed a spare Telstars, last one went for a grand, curious what the next one will hit. Few copies of the Huey here still.
  21. Came out in Canada on Reo too
  22. Many years ago Greg T found one here in the 26th St flea market for I believe $1, rather nice.
  23. Btw yes, same James Bowens, he was obsessed with James Bond hence the Double O and dressing his band in natty black spy suits on stage, would have loved to have seen that!
  24. May still have a spare of the Crawl, actually thought it was the easiest of their 45s. As for this seller buying records off ebay regularly and promptly "upgrading" the condition had already posted a few months ago about one where I was the 2nd bidder on an obscure one that didn't go high as condition was absolutely crap, promptly listed at an insane mark up claiming was clean, hope everyone here has wised up to those tricks.
  25. Yep that's the one, sorry I'm allergic to crossover so clearly my sensibilities didn't let me type the name properly haha, it went for less than asking to a UK buyer
