  1. To be honest once I'm brown bread I won't give a stuff what happens to the prices.
  2. Thanks
  3. Anyone know whether Shirley Brown Diva of Soul was ever released on vinyl? Only ever seen CD format so I'm guessing it was never released on vinyl.
  4. Take Anadin Extra
  5. Started going to Wigan in the early seventies and always though oldies were from the earlier Torch/Wheel era but apparently sounds played in the early seventies are now old school. Bearing in mind the amount of 'modern and crossover' records cut in the early seventies I assume the reference to oldies refers to when they were being played and the style as opposed to their actual recording era.
  6. The number of Emidiscs turning up on Ebay as 'original acetates' is just getting ridiculous. Either the people selling are numpties or more than likely just cynical rip off merchants fleecing the ever rising tide of gullible mugs prepared to pay crazy prices for bootlegs and tat on Ebay. You've got to feel sorry for the unsuspecting victims, but buyers really need to do a little more research before buying. it's one thing selling boots but when you start to describe them as rare originals surely that's criminal. Isn't it time Ebay at least attempted to police the bootleg merchants using their site and bar them from advertising misleading descriptions or is that an unrealistic prospect? After all there must be millions of pounds spent on norther soul records every year on ebay is it unreasonable to expect at least some scrutiny. Some of the descriptions on Ebay make Volkswagon look like pussycats.
  7. David Ruffin - Walk away from love Four Tops - darling I hum our song Gladys Knight - What good am I without you
  8. Capital 7;s Northern Soul box set
  9. I just rely on Popsike which I think gives you a realistic price of what albums are going for.
  10. I think Mr. Winstanley has turned to LSD or maybe it's dementia. What a load of cobblers, was he blind? From that stage it must have looked like a swarm of shit house rats looking up, eyes popping out of their heads. The squad were always there, you couldn't miss them, they might as well have put beacons on their heads. Even the plod couldn't help but have nicked a cart load, as useless as they were. Get a grip Russ
  11. Sounds like Alan Stephenson. Can't be many rock climbers from Halifax off their tits like Alan was.
  12. Gladys Night & The Pips - What Good Am I Without You Walter Jackson - Its All Over Barbara Hall - Broken Hearted Bettye Swann - This Old Heart Of Mine Nelson Sanders - Tired Of Being Your Fool To mention but a few.................................................................
  13. Wonder if I could get a gig once a month and claim a shit load of record purchases. Could end up with a rebate and let the tax man buy me a new collection. If only.
  14. Just as a matter of interest, can professional DJ's claim the cost of buying records as a tax deductible expense? Just curious.
  15. Probably couldn't play it in court here without a PRS licence!
  16. Couple that with Shredded Wheats and you'll be fit as a butchers dog.
  17. Mr. Floods Party - Compared To What Heard that recently and it went down pretty well.
  18. I bought some stuff off ebay from I think it was 'into the groove'. Seems to work really well. He has a load of chemical guff on his site, don't know if it's got Isopropyl in it though. Sounds like something Walter White might might have used.
  19. Well said, agree 100%.
  20. Pricks just came back and refunded, tickets not available!!!! I think at that price TBH I'm relieved.
  21. Just bought two tickets via Ticketmaster Getmein for Manchester. Total price £267.51 Original price of each ticket was £66.50 each Robbing bar stewards.
  22. Just received the PIR box set. What a bargain. Thanks for the heads up.
  23. Most folk on the scene these days don't wear that stupid get up. I wouldn't mind if it was a good look back in the day but lets be right, looking like Coco the Clown was never a look that would go down in history as cool. Rather than promote the scene, which should be about the music, these bell ends just paint us all with the same brush making us look foolish to the outside world and to be honest it's bloody embarassing.
  24. Charlie Hebdo - Bettye Swann - Tell It Like It Is
  25. Vaseline - Parliament - If It Don't Fit Don't Force It
