Here's my little addition, spoke to the daughter of the guy behind the record. He died a long time ago, his wife continued to live in the house for many years after, when she died the house was cleared and sold and anything to do with her fathers music business was thrown in a dumpster. I asked if she knew any of the other people involved in the group or if there were any other family members around that still might have a copy of the records, the reply was no.

PS A little more about the group. Salt & Pepper group from Chicago. Lead singer is one Joe Mantegna (Hollywood actor & Producer). Believe Guy used to have this covered up as FABULOUS ENCOUNTERS

Why suspicious John, a friend of mine in New York remembers this as a new release there. He told me it was a big tune on the East Coast disco scene and was available in a fair few stores around the city. Could well have been pressed a few times within a few weeks of each other, if it was selling that well. Small label owners often pressed in smaller runs, based on demand, simply because they didn't have the money to do a big run or weren't prepared to until they knew they had success. So where does the Yellow labeled pt1&2 come in. I would guess after the runs of Red & Blue and just before they licensed it to Calla for national distribution. PS, I've also picked blue copies a few times in the states as well as red ones in old distributors, so if it was repro, it would have to been somelse at the label doing it, via the backdoor. Otherwise the wouldn't have been able to sell into the distributor accounts.

Info On The Professionals -That's Why I Love You
Dave Thorley replied to Mrtag's topic in Look At Your Box
Although, Simon did lots of shady things, he also had a massive collection of rare originals. Also with one being found way up in Ohio by Robin S, I would say they were real. Detroit did lots of colored vinyl limited pressings, so again, not that odd. If Simon had pressed it on gold, way more would have turned up, as he was a businessman and he would have wanted to sell them, also most would have come direct to the UK, as that was his main market back then. -

Now you mention it, it could have been Tim that got the copy I mentioned, he was there on the night and up to his arm pits in records. -

There must be another copy somewhere in the UK, cuz the first gold/yellow wax copy turned up at Yate 76/77, when Colin B brought all of Simon Sussan's records for sale. I think Ian Clark got that one, but maybe wrong, long time ago. -
