Buddy is alive and well, living in Detroit. He also sang with the Tokays. After recording his stuff for Tony Clark's Brute label he left the business. Then about three years ago he hooked up with his old producer McKinley Jackson and started doing a few clubs around Detroit with McKinley's allstar ensemble, which also has Joey Kingfish amongst others playing with it. Saw him at a gig last year, when he sang 'To lose the one you love' live, just stunning.
