Here's a shocking story for ya Ian. Met Bobby Massey a few years ago, he had just moved back to Cleveland from Atlanta.He had moved some of his stuff down there which was stored in a basement. The basement got flooded and everything destroyed and throw in dumpsters. So he thought lets make a clean start, sell up and head home and get to work on some of his old Cleveland material Way Out, Saru, O'Jays, Daywood etc recordings. When he gets back to Cleveland the studio has changed hands, where he had all his masters stored and the new owners had thrown them all in a dumpster. He was heart broken, when I meet him he was in the process of setting up a new community studio.

Hi Ian The number of times I've gone into an old out building, barn etc and found master tapes under piles of dried leaves, dead rats or the roof has been leaking in on them for over 30 years, shocking. But as you say owners don't care. Dave

Yep was his barber who was called Greenbro or a version of that. Andy Rix spoke to Margret a while back don't think she had a copy of the record. I spent a number of years trying to find the barber in question, but after Richard has passed. So asked his daughters and friends who this could have been, but with no luck. All I found out was he was based somewhere on the west side of the city, but that's a mighty big area...

Inter/Soul was a Detroit based label owned Ernest Kelly. He put out a mixture of new and older material a fair few tracks were re-mixes of older material.

I always associate this with Clifton Hall. Think Richard played it first at the very end of Wigan, but as there would have been only a couple of hundred there on any given night, wasn't really heard that much. Was also very popular at Todmorden alldayers, which again were run by Richard and Bernie Came out twice both sell for about the same. Been selling for about £40 for the last few years, several have gone through Ebay for as little as £20
