It is possible that someone tried covering it up in the 80's, do you remember when you got it. The reason I say that, is that there were a few Mecca tracks that a few younger DJ's played covered up as they had never gone there and as far as they knew were unknown. I remember being at Hinckley one night and someone playing Innersection C/U, he was most put out when I told him what it was and that it had been played around the country in the 70's as well as being on the Soul Bowl, Front Page lists for a number of weeks. The speed at which new or newish releases were being played there in the mid to late 70's could make your head spin.

Gemm are now offering a direct payment system via Paypal. Over the last year I stuck with them as a sales outlet, storing up payments as credit and using this to buy other records, but this wasn't really satisfactory. But now they are offing a direct payment system and it's working, I have just received the first payment direct into my Paypal account. Just though I'd let you all know, here is their statement....................... Attention all Sellers! You can now start receiving direct payments from customers. If this selection is enabled your customers will no longer see an option to pay through GEMM by credit card or by Paypal. The only option for electronic payments your customers will see at check-out will be to send a Paypal payment or bank transfer to you directly. Contact seller.com if you wish to provide your customers with the option of also paying by credit cards or Paypal to GEMM, even though you receive direct payments. Direct ordering can be enabled or disabled from the Payment Processing section of your GEMM seller account under Preferences/Registration. Please contact seller.com if you have any questions. Direct ordering will be charged a 5% commission by GEMM on the price of items sold. Billing will occur twice a month. Direct ordering can be enabled or disabled from the Payment Processing section under Preferences/Registration.

Never Mind Simon Soussan. Who Was Bob Cataneo?
Dave Thorley replied to Quinvy's topic in All About the SOUL
I remember Bob having a shit load of The California Playboys LP, back in the day, late 70's must have got 10 from him to sell on. He also had a fair few Ty Karim - Lightin' up, which I bought 10 of also, only to receive them and find it was the 70's version. Ended up giving most of them away, as no one wanted them then. -

Worlds Biggest Record Collection
Dave Thorley replied to Billy Jo Jim Bob's topic in Look At Your Box
Marco is a known to a few people on here, as he has come up in conversation before. But I also know that he likes to keep a low profile and doesn't like his full details being bandied around. On the occasions I have dealt with him face to face, he used to come over to the Blackpool Luxuary Weekender to buy records. He would take records up to his room to check them on his database to see if he already had them. -
John Manship Auction Results 18-3-2015
Dave Thorley replied to JOE TORQUAY's topic in Look At Your Box
I know this isn't gonna make some very happy, but as far as I can tell from people involved back in the day many of the Rouser releases are in effect local bootlegs. I spoke to the leader of The El Corols a few years ago, who had no idea how it ended up on that label as he owned the rights and had never done a deal with Tommy Rouse. As far as he was concerned Tina was the only legit release. -

Worlds Biggest Record Collection
Dave Thorley replied to Billy Jo Jim Bob's topic in Look At Your Box
True mate, but sadly a couple of the guys I mentioned have quantity and stunning rarities. Most of these guys have been collecting since at least the 70's when it was possible to build large collections at affordable prices -
Worlds Biggest Record Collection
Dave Thorley replied to Billy Jo Jim Bob's topic in Look At Your Box
From what I understand it could be a guy in Japan, who is the son of one of the directors of a major corporation. Also Marco in Italy could have one of the largest. Then there are several guys in the U.S. with very large collections. All of these collect 45's, 12", LP's and CD's -
