  11. Hi Bob I don't supose the big gang of hangers on that went everywhere with him have offered to chip in and do a little of his time for him. But the upside is maybe they will all have to go and get jobs now.
  12. Hi Mate One of the main reasons many put out instrumentals in the 60's was cost. For many young artists in the sixties they could only afford studio time for one set of vocals, so would just put the backing track on the B side. But there are many instrumentals that where made to stand on there own, these tend to be less repetitive. I was never a great fan of purely backing tracks that had little extra to offer. But full blown instrumentals for instrumental sake, bring them on. Sam Ambrose and Friend, G Tyler & R Davis, King Errison, Mike Post, Brothers, Miracle Workers. Bring back the instrumental!!!!!!!
  13. Agree, but oddly Keb has booked him rather than Butch at his new Northern Soul nites, cuz he says he is more of a star than Butch

  17. When I first started going to Wigan I had no car. Used to thumb it up from Gloucester, well Dursley really. Bus to Gloucester, then onto M5 slip road and the trip would start. Once a month if I made it to the Frankley services by 9pm could get a life with the driver of a Wagon Weels truck, up to Knutsford, then round the car park to get a lift with other heading to the Casino. The way back was another whole adventure. On one occasion, didn't get back until 7am monday morning. Got dropped of at the exit south of Wigan only to find you can't get back on the motorway again there. When we did get back on the Motorway, the next guy took all the way to Liverpool cuz we feel to sleep in the car. Then we got a lift back to Lymm intersection and thought it's just a mile to Knutsford from here so we'll walk, bloody long mile. Didn't get our last life back to Gloucester until 1am, arrived there at 3am and walked the last 15 miles home. Happy days
  18. and i thought this debate was new........
  19. I used to be able to dance like that 20 years ago, not anymore
  20. Well think it's all been interesting. Also shows this little old scene of ours has a lot of life still left in it, long may it continue. Me, love it all and all the differing people I meet, even if we don't always agree musically. Still was a top night at Lifeline, as was the Orwell and You know you got soul. What ever your musical taste, don't give up on it and keep fighting you particular corner, when you stop, then we're really in trouble
  21. Not bad really we were all united for 3 hours and 6 mins
  22. Leave them alone, nothing wrong with a good scrap
  23. Well the peace making didn't last long
