Skull Snaps Lp
John's right if you look at the fine detail on the re-issue it has a digital blur to the edges of the images and the sleeve has a gloss finish. The original has a matt silk finish. The sticker on the cover is printed as part of the artwork. Also the re-issue just looks to new, if you know what I mean. Dave

Tarpon Records
He also has a great release on Chirrup, cracking uptempo R&B 'Every woman I know'. I maybe wrong but I think he was married to Denise LaSalle

The New Sounds Lp
The Newsounds on Mod-Art, top tune. Different group though, out of Chicago, think it was the only thing they released. Generally the whole label is good.

Nice Jazz LP and it has a cool remake of one of the sides of his Pedestal 45. Met him 2 years ago at Denise's home, real nice guy.

Vee Vee - With Or Without Permission Info
Hi This is an early recording by Vee Vee Allan, one of two releases on the label. Vee is the ex-wife of Na Allan, she is now days working as a school teacher in upstate Michigan. Recorded in Detroit. Sells for about £100 if you can find one. I played it for a while at the Ritz and Bretby allniters about 10years ago. Dave

The Houstons
Hit records was a buget label out of Nashville, did lots of cover versions of soul hits, some are not bad but the majority are poor. The Houstons is one of the better ones.

Fantastic Arrangements
I agree all the aformention tracks have good arrangements. But just about everything arranged by McKinley Jackson from the early 70's until the late leaves most in his wake, and I do say most, not all. Listen to Popcorn Wylie's, ESP LP or his work at ABC with Bobby Hutton, Reggie Garner, Lamont Dozier to name a few. Even lovers of the 60's when listening to this would have to agree that he moved the benchmark. The Holland brothers to this day, still ring him to consult on arrangements.
