  1. So net result of this tread, is that there are lots of great 70's/80's tracks still out there and under played. Roll on 2007, more record searching, djing and venues, just love it. Even at my age!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Glad to see your still as mad as a box of frogs, you know I love you Dave
  3. Happy Xmas to everyone one out there. A big thanks to everyone that supported Soulshakers International @Aston Villa and the amazing response to the first weekender in Bamberg, Germany. We now have a new venue, for Soulshakers International. First date 10 March. Same UK dj's, same killer music policy, great international guest DJ's. Been a fab year, loved doing Mark Bicknells show and djing at so many good events. The scene feels in good shape to us. Big shout out to Orwell Crew, The Lifeline Crew, Rimini Posse, Nurnberg Team, Gloucester's very own Soul Fusion, Lynn's so cool Soulunderground and the ever green Soul Essence. Hope everyone has a great Xmas and New Year, see you in 2007 Dave & Malayka
  4. Have a funking good Xmas, love you lots. Be expecting lots more hip hop from you in the new year Dave & Malayka
  5. Oh well Tony, me thinks the Spanky Wilson is another Gloria Scott, but just may take a while for others to agree.
  6. Hi Mark That comment of mine was aimed at Martin

  9. I thought that was you See you in 2 days
  10. I would have thought the first Soul/R&B allniter or club that ran allnitish, would have been the Pink Flamingo, Wardour Street, London. This first started back in the 50's as a jazz club, but had moved over to R&B/soul by the late 50's/early 60's. But would need a Londoner to confirm this, as I'm way to young. But did find this on the web. https://www.tkogroup.com/jsk/flamingo.html Dave

  14. It's a large poster so can't do a scan, will try a phot today Dave
  15. Last one I sold about a few months ago was £80
  16. Also I've had 2 copies of Paradise over the Years and seen at least 3 sell on ebay in the last 5-10 years.
  17. Florence Trapp: is a hard record, would think there are about 6 copies around in the UK. I have one, Butch, Wrighty, Robin's old copy, and I'm sure a couple of other people have mention it to me. So 6 copies isn't dog rare!!!!!!!!! There are more copies around of The Del Larks & Robby Lawson, so I would say it's dog rare. Also with the level of record hunting that has gone on in the last 10 years and only that many have surfaced, it's rare. Did I say it's rare, amoungst the best of the Detroit collectors, in Detroit I only know of one copy. It's rare.
  18. QUOTE(C.B @ Dec 20 2006, 01:26 PM) link Anglo-American had a copy on auction earlier this year I think... Opening bid was £2500 or something Did anyone else see that lovely Fluorescent Smogg concert poster at the Lifeline Weekender this year..? Wouldn't mind having that one in my living room
