  2. As abstract as possible Female stomper, with male backing Winifred Attwell & The Beatles
  3. Hey Up Spot Don't tell Malayka that it's her top want Dave
  4. Top news, Nik McAvoy-Yate DJ and the last true promoter of the venue has agreed to join us. He will be doing a set in the modern room. After Yate, Nik stayed in the music scene working as a producer and DJ on the House and Garage scene. He is now a club owner down on the south coast. He is so looking forward to catching up with old faces on the night.
  5. No, every one wants to be a DJ now days and own the tune SECOND , it all about 'Look at the size of my dick' mentality, so all intelligence goes out the window when buying. Ferrari's cost little more than Audi's to build, but sell at 3 times the price, if not more
  6. But to be fair, this has always been a dance floor driven scene
  7. I'd say all the records I want are worth very little and are very common. Until I get them Here is a small list of very common, cheap records, if anyone has them, let me know. Sherlock Holmes-Part III Del-Larks-Queen City (Demo) Tolbert-Rojac Eddie Campbell-Artco
  8. This record seems to be the topic of conversation on here ever few weeks
  9. Show how long it is, since you have looked through my stock on Gemm
  10. Now that's what I call a talent
  11. I wish he'd play a few £5 records I've got 20 copies of
  12. Maybe not, due to the interest created by Butch, now the record may get leased over here for release or CD inclusion, so they or the writers get a bit of cash. Long live the C/U Dave
  13. My son has software on his phone that lets him take a small sample as a record is being played then searches the web and 6 out 10 times it comes back with the artist and title name, how scary is that. He demonstrated it to an amazed group at the last Soulfusion in Gloucester. He sampled a bunch of northern tunes as they were being played from the back of the room, over all the noise. Dave
  14. Always pulls at my heart strings when I see him, good old egg and a main stay at Stafford. Without Neil, Keith wouldn't have got to half the Stafford's we ran together. Also the man that discovered the Stafford anthem Larry Davis-I've been hurt so many times-Kent Sold me it one night for £5, after an hour we came up with the c/u name Johnny Henley and a Stafford monster was born. Topman Dave
  15. Now I've got it to work, it's OK, can see why someone would play it. Got to be worth £500 of anyone's money
  16. What ever the reason, they're a bit of fun, part of the folklaw of the scene. Nothing to get all upset about, much more important things to worry about. Like when the F&*k is my architect going to get my planning application finished.
  17. Morning Harpo You're right Keith and I did do 2 allniters there. Basically the same line up as Stafford, but the management messed us around so much that we did no more. Dave
  18. I'd love to join in all the fun but can't get the sound clip to work Dave
  19. Cover up's originally was an attempt to slow down the bootleggers, sadly that is still the case today. Dave
  20. Yes he also produced Bobby Hutton, McKinley that is. He is a good friend and a pleasure to be with. We often speak about his work, he started at just 14 doing arrangements on Arabians on La Mans. He was married to Shirley Jones of the Jones Girls and his son is the late 'Proof' of Detroit Hip Group D12, Eminem's band. There's an interview I did with him for Manifesto somewhere on this site. In Detroit he is seen as a genius amongst his peers. Dave
  21. Morning Sean Great to see her with a big smile on her face, good nite indeed. Dave
  22. Famed as one third of HDH, but when it came to producing many of his great 70's ABC & Warner Brothers outings he handed this over to his great friend and fellow Detroiter, McKinley Jackson. When Invictus fell apart, Lamont Dozier, McKinley Jackson and Popcorn Wylie set up 3G production (Three Gemini's, they all share the same birth sign) and headed of to the West Coast. Just love all the Jackson productions and his great strings arrangements. At the same time he produced Reggie Garner and Popcorn Wylie amongst many others at ABC.
  23. Funny enough got the very same record for about the same price a few months ago, decribed as having a skip near intro, good clean when it came, nows plays near perfect.
