  6. Hi All Just got a copy of this, spoke to all the band members still alive, no one has a copy, the label owner died in the 70's and all his stock was thrown away. It didn't get distributed, just sold local and it didn't sell very many. This will stay a rarity!!!!. As an aside, the group didn't rate this tune, they always thought that 'Cry no more' was better. The same stuff about distribution of that track applies, so those of you that have it hang on to it as it will stay hard to find. 11. I don't dis-believe you, but as far as the group knew nothing came out, so Juggy must have put it out and not told them?? What are the track names and a scan would be good. Dave
  12. They also went to New york and did a session with Juggy Murray, but nothing came of this.
  13. Hi All Just got back fropm a long trip in the US. While Malayka and I were there we met the 'Original' Parliaments. Some 30 years later four members of the group still live within four blocks of each other, in West Virgina. They formed the group in the early 60's and put out three singles. Parliaments-Cry no more-Cabel (pronounced Cabul) Parliments-This is my rainy day-Cabel Paliaments-I found out-Unpredictable. Cabel was a label run by a local store owner, the store owner later died and all the label stock was thrown away, this may explain why all their stuff is so hard to find. The name came from a brand of cigarettes, called Parliament, they added the (s). When the group was in Detroit to met Ed Wingate they found out George Clinton had a group by the same name. Ed never signed them as he fell out the group manager. But the manager did go to court over the name and a judge in New York, found in their favour, but told both groups to change names. George change, eventually to Funkadelic and they to The Unpredictable Parliaments. This was later confirmed by some friends in Detroit that used to play with George. We have some great original photo's of the group, which we will post later, also I have picked up the rights to release their stuff. Dave
  14. I remember Inter-City Soul club running one advertised as Wolverhampton Civic, but that could have been Wulfran
  15. Town next to Cannock is that how it's spelt, Hednesford Alsager, is just in the back of my mind, may have this wrong.
  16. I'll give them a ring, but need to get 'The Powerstation' off the ground first
  17. No, I ran them all with Danny Everard. It was sort of the end of the Stafford era, everyone went off to do other things after that. But even with the police hassel, they were good fun.
  18. I ran it for a year after Stafford closed. DJ's included Butch, Ian Clarke, Guy, Keb, Ady Pountain, Jonathon, Adam, Robin over two rooms, one modern the other northern. From the day we started to the day it closed we were harrassed by the police and thats why it's a hard venue to use. Asked not long ago and the police in the town are just anti allniters. Shame
  19. Also Manchester International & International 2
  20. Another one I ran and forgot, time to take me off to the funny farm
  21. Just remembered Bretby, I ran it with Chris King, shows I'm getting old when I don't remember things like that And Swanage, Dorset, I DJ'd there, god the memory is getting poor
