  1. Which is what is stated in the Soulwalking artical, but wondered what, if any was the connection between them and the Frantic (Philly group).
  2. Thanks guy's would be interesting to find the guys and know more. Dave
  3. Hi Guys Was looking round the web for images of the Rotations and went to the Soul Walking Site. Reading there comments on the band, it would imply that original The Rotations (on Frantic) were out of Cleveland, when I'd always thought they were out of Philly. link to the page https://www.soulwalking.co.uk/Rotations.html Anyone one have the full story on the group. Thanks Dave
  4. Hi Guys this is fantastic, but list is getting longer by the minute. Hope they get the sound files sorted soon so we can share some of this with each other, I mean how long do they need for this site maintenace ?????
  5. Still love this track, was very popular at Yate as well. I have a few of them but it never sells, still a great track though. Remember seeing them at Bristol's Colston Hall, Randy Crawford was with them, singing 'Street Life'. She wasn't billed, and did the intro from off stage and then to everyone suprise stepped on stage, she was great. For their encore they came on and said "for all you old jazz funkers here's a classic". Then played this, brought the house down.
  6. Any one help with this. Ravins-Your love is what I want-Demo Ristic Thanks Dave
  7. Thanks Ken Will their updating the site it doesn't seem to want to let you do much.
  8. Just been listening to a couple of his soulful sides. Love 'Don't wait too long' on the Water Lily labeled LP. Anyone got any other recomendations by him ? I'll post a sound file of that.
  9. There used to be a Sally Army shop about a mile away, only a few 45's but had loads of LP's and multiples out the back. Got 10 copies of the Spyder Turner Lp, and 10 of the Kim Weston with 'Easy Street' and a couple of Mary Saxton. But that was then, probably not even there now. Also walked into Blue Note just a few days after it open, boy I did well, 45's & 12"'
  10. Not bad for a rock n' roll singer. But never seen it
  11. Hi Ian I'm sure you've heard life has been tough for him over the last few years, but he's fine. Which reminds me, haven't spoken since I got back, will give him a ring soon as. He always makes it to Soul Essence and sells on ebay. Dave
  12. Someone just commented on the sound level on the site. We have an upgraded sound card on the site, this allows you to adjust the sound level on each sound clip, use the speaker icon on the right of the sound tool on each title to turn up sound.
  13. Not a vast find, but still nice. In the early 80's was in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on holiday. Had a day spare so thought I'd pop over to Sid Arthur's Oldies (Later King Arthurs). Spent the day going through boxes and did fairly well. Now at this time, early Stafford, Richard had been playing Willie Tee-Please don't go, think Ian had a copy, but not many had turned up. Was just about to leave and thought I just look through the alphabetical section on the side wall. The store was know well so hadn't look before, went to the Willie Tee tab and there were 3 copies. Couldn't believe my luck.

I got a copy framed and took it to McKinley when I was in Detroit. He was blown away, just loved it. Now has pride of place in his sitting room. Got a bunch of concert posters I picked up over the years including a Florecent Smogg!!!!!!!, Might see if I can them done.
  16. We intend over a few years to release a number of his tunes, plus there are still more unreleased things. But, Manny has his hands pretty full with new projects so it's a case of getting him to fit my projects in.

  18. Just a bump for all you peeps that only view the site when at work. Dave
  19. Gary would like to see his collection, you can only just get in his bedroom for record boxes, i'm sure there are records in there that he's not seen since he got them. Persuaded him to DJ a couple of time upstairs at Stafford, play blinding sets each time, but was shitting him self all the way through, never used the mic once. A great mate and a nice bloke Dave
  20. 'It's all up to you' is one of my all time fav's. Just stunning!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. He's a really nice bloke really. Agree with you both, great tune from one of the greatest, if not the best harmony groups.
  22. There you go mate, might have a rare copy, time will tell
